Crane was one of Clay's younger sisters and daughter of Cattail. She was killed in a battle two days before Clay and The Dragonets of Destiny reached the Mud Kingdom.
This worried them, and led Clay to wonder how many of his siblings will still be alive when the war ends. Reed in particular was devastated by her death, and wondered if she'd still be alive if Clay had been there.
