- "We're a noble family! We've married royals before! And I'm extremely handsome! Look at my jawline! I polish my scales every day! I could easily marry Princess Scarlet!"
- — Canyon to Tailwind about marrying Scarlet, A Guide to the Dragon World
Canyon was an adult male SkyWing who was featured in A Guide to the Dragon World. He was the husband of Scarlet and the brother of Tailwind. After being married for twelve years, Scarlet put Canyon in the arena where he died in a battle with a SkyWing general. Before his death, he resided in the SkyWing palace.
Description
Canyon was big,[1] with polished scales and built muscles.[2] He always walked around with his diamond engagement ring and a smug face.[1]
Personality
Canyon was egotistical, dim, and careless.[3] He was obsessed with his appearance, spending a lot of time on it. He always talked about himself and would dominate every conversation he was in, thinking he was smarter than everyone about everything.[2] Tailwind described him as stupid,[4] while Scarlet described him as a bore.[5]
Biography
Pre-Series
Canyon hatched in the Sky Kingdom where he grew up in the SkyWing palace. He had a crush on Scarlet when she was a princess and wished to marry her. After catching the attention of Queen Firestorm, he became engaged to Scarlet and the two had a royal wedding where Scarlet challenged and killed her mother.
Canyon and Scarlet were married for twelve years and had sixteen dragonets before Scarlet put Canyon in the arena. He survived two battles before being killed by a SkyWing general.
Field Guides
Canyon was first mentioned as one of the dragons Scarlet wanted dead. Later, his marriage with Scarlet was documented in Tailwind's This is Why We Don't Marry Psychopaths.
Relationships
Canyon had a crush on Scarlet and believed that she would be madly in love with him because of his appearance.[2] The two eventually got married and Canyon finally started to be intimidated by Scarlet's violence after she killed her mother and sister, along with several other guests, at their wedding.[6]
Canyon would occasionally talk to Tailwind, cornering them sometimes in order to gloat about his achievements. He assumed that they would be at his wedding,[1] noting that anyone with a status would be there. He reminded them that he was famous, while they were not, haughtly flaunting his engagement to Tailwind.[6]
