Template:CharboxCadelle is an adult female HiveWing, the grandmother of Cricket, and the mother of Katydid. She is divorced from Katydid's Father, so they grew up in Cicada Hive while Cadelle currently lives in Jewel Hive.
Appearance
She is described as an orange and black HiveWing. She has transparent wings with black stripes.
Personality
Cadelle is shown to be ill-tempered and cruel, once biting a SilkWing servant with her poisonous teeth. She dislikes both Katydid and Cricket. She also views her job as a waste of time.
Biography
Cadelle is first shown in Cricket's flashback, disturbing Cricket as she is hiding in a cupboard reading a forbidden book.
Later on, in the book, it's revealed that Cadelle isn't Cricket's mother, but is in fact her grandmother who reluctantly took the dragonet in when her real mother, Katydid, gave her away. Later on in the story, it is revealed that she divorced her husband and moved to Jewel Hive, where she teaches history.
Relationships
Katydid is her daughter, but Cadelle doesn't seem particularly motherly to her.
Cricket is passed off as her 'adoptive' daughter, when in fact, Cricket is actually her granddaughter. Cadelle dislikes Cricket, probably because she has to deal with a dragonet that's not hers, even though they are still family regardless (odd because even adoptive parents can still develop bonds) - this unusual dislike for her own grandchild may be most likely the result of a mental illness.
