The term 'brightest night' refers to a celestial phenomenon occurring roughly once every hundred years, wherein all three of Pyrrhia's moons are simultaneously full.
Description
'Brightest nights' occur when all three of Pyrrhia's moons are full on the same night.
In Darkstalker's time, NightWings thought that a dragonet that hatched on the brightest night would have animus powers[1], but it was later concluded that the third moon would only enhance the former two powers; prophecy and mind-reading.[2]
Timeline
- Two brightest nights have occurred in the series — one around 3,007 AS (Darkstalker's hatching night) and one in 5,005 AS (the hatching of the dragonets of destiny).[2][3]
- A false brightest night occurred in 5,011 AS during the events of The Brightest Night.[4] This was caused by a comet passing through the sky, acting as a false fourth moon and causing earthquakes on the Pyrrhian continent.[5]
