Axolotl is a non-binary human who appeared in The Flames of Hope. With the help of Wren, they directed Luna and her group to the abyss. They are the second known human to learn the Dragon language, with Wren being the first known individual.
Appearance
Axolotl is pale, with a thatch of dark hair on their head.[1]
Personality
Axolotl is like a human version of Cricket, because they both have an obsession with dragon books.[2]

Axolotl was first seen oberserved by part of the Representatives (Luna, Cricket, Bullfrog, Sky, and Wren) trying to read a dragon book in the cavern. When Axolotl appeared in the cavern for the third time (three days after the Representatives entered the Pantalan caverns), the IceWing gift of stealth turned the Representatives all visible again. Axolotl panicked and tried to run away before they were trapped by Bullfrog. Wren then convinced Bullfrog, in Dragon, to release Axolotl. As soon as they were released, Axolotl ran into the Pantalan caverns, terrified of the dragons. Wren told the group to stay in the cavern, while she followed Axolotl to receive insight from the Pantalan humans. - Axolotl is the first stated non-binary character to appear in the series.
- Axolotl is the second known human to speak the Dragon language, the first known individual being Wren. However, Axolotl is not very fluent in Dragon and only knows how to speak fragmented Dragon sentences.
