Opening Letter
The book opens up with a letter by the Dragonets of Destiny, stating their project to gather information from Pyrrhia and Pantala to create a more comprehensive guide to the dragon's world.
Commentary by Starflight, Sunny, Fatespeaker, and Glory can be seen in the margins.
The Legend of the Scorching
The Legend of the Scorching tells the mindspace scenes from The Flames of Hope in the perspective of the dragons.
Chapter 1: MudWings
Clay is the dragon who narrates the MudWing section of the book.
He presents the Academy's copy of Wisemind's The Sluglike Qualities of the MudWings, with Sepia's commentary in the margins of it, before showing a short story in the perspective of a MudWing.
