• A corn rootworm is a type of beetle that feeds on the crown roots of corn. They have 3 different species: the northern corn rootworm is pale yellow when emerged from the soil, however it quickly darkens to pale green; the western corn rootworm has black and yellow stripes; the southern corn rootworm is yellow or green with black spots on its wing covers. The western and southern varients have a shiny black head while the northern version's head is greenish brown.
• Rootworm´s name is similar to that of Lady Bloodworm.
