Template:Infobox Osprey was an elder among the SkyWings, nearly blind, with washed-out red scales and a paralyzed tail.
History
In his youth, Osprey guarded countless tons of treasure. One day, a scavenger came to steal it and managed to paralyze his tail before he ate it. Osprey has lost the ability to fly, and gave all his treasure to Queen Scarlet, in order for him to live in the SkyWing Palace. He served as the defense on SkyWing trials, but usually made very poor arguments to avoid being executed by Scarlet.
He later became a friend and mentor to Peril, telling her many stories from his youth.
The Dragonet Prophecy
Years later, during Kestrel's trial, he explained that Kestrel had followed Queen Scarlet's order to kill one of the twins, and that the remaining would be spared. However, Queen Scarlet then changed her mind and told her guards - one of them being Osprey - to kill Peril and take Kestrel back for a trial. Kestrel escaped, evading a trial until she was captured when Clay's plan accidentally led the Queen Scarlet to their cave.
Back at the trial, the SkyWing Queen decided Kestrel was still guilty, and ordered Osprey to be executed for boring her, along with Kestrel. Peril called upon the tradition of the Champion's Shield, and stood for Kestrel, her mother. After Queen Scarlet discovered that Osprey told her about the SkyWing traditions, she dropped him high above the arena, and as he could not fly, he was dragged by the useless weight of his tail, and fell to the arena floor. Peril attempted to save him, but could not help as touching him would have injured him further. He later died of his wounds.
