The IceWing plague was a deadly disease enchanted by Darkstalker to target all pure IceWings in the Ice Kingdom and Possibility, as revenge for Diamond supposedly killing Foeslayer. The only pure IceWing not to get the plague was Winter, as Darkstalker made him immune to not raise suspicion. It did not spread like a normal disease according to Typhoon; every IceWing in Possibility instantly caught the plague and started coughing up blood.[1] In the Ice Kingdom, many IceWings also caught the plague, and twenty, including Queen Glacier, died.[2][3]

The disease was finally stopped when Typhoon informed Thorn about it, and Qibli sent enchanted earrings, which granted immunity to Darkstalker's spells, to the IceWings, saving most of them, but also restarting a two thousand year old war.

Symptoms

  • Coughing up blood[1]
  • High fever
  • Dizziness
  • Death[2]

Victims

  • Queen Glacier (deceased)
  • Tundra
  • Hailstorm
  • A messenger who talked to Hailstorm
  • Typhoon's father
  • Most IceWings in the Ice Kingdom (some deceased)
  • All IceWings in Possibility
  • Narwhal

Trivia

  • This disease may be a type of tuberculosis, as they have similar symptoms.
  • The plague killed Queen Glacier, leading to her daughter Snowfall ascending to the throne at age six.
    • This makes Snowfall the youngest currently ruling queen.
