Template:Charbox Heath, also known as The Dragonslayer, is a male scavenger, and the father of Ivy. He is the former Lord of Valor. Heath is actually the 'false' dragonslayer, who claimed to be the one who killed Queen Oasis when it was actually Stone, his older brother, who did not wish to have all the treasure and attention. Subsequently, it led to Heath taking all the credit for killing Queen Oasis.

Appearance

Heath has burn scars from Queen Oasis's fire that covers half his body. Dark burns ripple along his arm on the same side of his body. He wears a pair of gold earrings shaped like swords that dangle from each ear. He is also mentioned to have a tangled black beard and limbs that "looked like bread dough". Leaf noted that he looked like he ate more than Master Trout, but wasn't that big, and was shorter than he expected. He is also noted to be hairier than Stone.

Personality

Heath is shown to be short tempered, manipulative, self-centered, and extremely selfish. He would banish anyone from the village who questioned his story about killing Queen Oasis and was constantly boasting about his feats and telling his story over and over again to people, according to Ivy. However, in reality, Heath was a deceiving liar, having lied to the residents of Valor about killing Oasis and taking credit for everything, and even deliberately leaving out the part of leaving Rose behind. He showed a complete disregard of the needs of the other villagers of Valor, and on several occasions disregarded his own laws and even made up a law to banish Pine from the village for going too near to the old village. 

When Ivy tried to convince Rose to return to Valor with her so that Heath would "stop feeling guilty about her", Rose is skeptical, claiming that she wouldn't change anything, and that Heath never listened to reason and was always getting mad over little things.

Heath is also evidently very selfish and greedy, as when Ivy considers returning the SandWing treasure Heath took, Stone says that Heath would never give up his treasure "in a million years, not to save a single soul, or a thousand souls", saying he loves his treasure more than anything in the world.

However, in the end, it is clear that Heath is simply a coward, as when Wren confronts him with Sky, Heath crumples to the ground, apologizing and publicly admitting that he never killed Oasis, but it was in fact Stone who did.

• A heath is a small hill or knoll.
  • Heath is also a brand of chocolate bar with almonds and toffee mixed in, although he is likely not named after this.
• Heath is the ruler of Valor. He obtained this by claiming to have killed Queen Oasis.
• Heath regularly sneaks out to take some treasure back for spending, but he claims he goes out to taunt dragons.
• Heath was brave enough to fight dragons as a kid, but the trauma of losing rose made him a coward, not of grief, but of selfishness and fear.
• He is the first character in the books to hold public and scheduled executions.
