He was punished severely by Queen Scarlet, who took away all his water for months, an act which would drive him insane. Shortly after this, he was pitted against [[Tsunami]] in the [[Skywing Arena|SkyWing Arena]]. Gill was desperate and dehydrated, and would have killed Tsunami without realizing it. She killed him by snapping his neck, imagining he was [[Queen Scarlet]], only later finding out that he was her father.
