The Burning of Bloodworm Hive was an event involving an attack on Bloodworm Hive by the PoisonWings. The burning was the first major offensive action on Queen Wasp by the LeafWings since the Tree Wars. It is unknown how many dragons were killed in the burning, but likely a large number, considering it was mentioned to be on the brink of collapse. It is also likely most of the victims were HiveWings, due to the measures taken by the Chrysalis to protect SilkWings. Blue, Cricket, Swordtail, and Sundew tried to stop the attack, but they were unsuccessful.

Bryony, Pokeweed, and Hemlock burned down the hive with a strand of flamesilk from Blue that was collected in a stone jar from Sundew, that Belladonna left for them in the prologue of The Poison Jungle. The LeafWings had brought dittany and other flammable plants from the jungle to help burn down the hive. Grayling, a member of the Chrysalis, told the SilkWings to stay near an exit with their dragonets. Other members of the Chrysalis were sent to get eggs and cocoons of dragonets in their Metamorphosis.

Blue, Cricket, Sundew, Swordtail, and Bumblebee watched the hive burn from afar. It is mentioned several times in The Poison Jungle; for example, when Sundew told Willow and then Sequoia that her parents had gone ahead with the plan and burned down the hive.
Bloodworm Hive was selected to be burned down due to how cruel Lady Bloodworm was. The Hive was also noted to have the most Chrysalis members, which further motivated the burning.
