Addax is a male SandWing and was once a member of the Outclaws and had previously served as a soldier in Burn's army. While with the Outclaws, he always called his commanders by "sir", which Six-Claws refers to as his "military habits", and not without a shred of irritation. After betraying the Outclaws, it is assumed that he rejoined Burn's arm and reunited with his family.

*An addax is a breed of desert antelope that has a stumpy body.
*Addax may have gotten his scar from Burn as she tends to harm the soldiers who define her, but this is not confirmed.
*Sunny states that Addax was one of the guards Burn brought with her in the Sky Palace.
*It is unknown what happened to Addax after he turned in Sunny as of the second arc.

"Don't make a mistake here. My friends' tails are much closer to your dragonet than you are to me. If you attack, or even shout for help, she'll be dead in an instant. But this doesn't have to get all violent, Six-Claws. We want the dragonet of destiny. It's a simple, fair trade."
— Addax to Six-Claws about Sunny, The Brightest Night

Addax is an adult male SandWing who was introduced in The Brightest Night. He was formerly a member of the Outclaws and a soldier in Princess Burn's army. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

Description

Addax has yellow scales[1] and a long scratch across one of his eyes that has also torn up part of his nose, disfiguring his face. He walks with a limp.[2]

Personality

Addax appears to be highly respectful of Burn, as Sunny thought when she saw him "bowing and scraping behind Burn" in the Sky Kingdom.[3] He is violent and aggressive, as he took several extreme measures just to prove his loyalty to Burn. However, he is also very loyal and caring towards his family, wanting to trade Sunny in order to reunite with them.[4] He has also shown some compassion as he released Ostrich while the Scorpion Den was still in sight for her to get back.[5]

Biography

The Dragonet Prophecy

Addax was first introduced when Six-Claws was escorting Sunny to Thorn, and he questioned who she was. Six-Claws dismissed him, and Addax watched them until they were out of his view. Sunny thought that he looked familiar, but decided that she would have remembered his scar.

He later deliberately set fire to the orphanage and claimed that there was a dragonbite viper to draw Thorn away from Sunny. While she was distracted, Addax used Ostrich, Six-Claws' daughter, as a bargaining chip. He offered her life in exchange for Sunny, who he wanted to give to Burn. Addax wanted Burn to allow him to return to her army and his family. After hearing this, Sunny agreed, but Six-Claws was reluctant to give Sunny up. Six-Claws eventually gave in, and Addax made up a lie for Six-Claws to tell Thorn, that Sunny decided she did not want a criminal thug for a mother and ran for the hills. Sunny protested, telling Six-Claws to tell Thorn she was visiting her friends and would be back soon.

Sunny recognized Addax as one of the SandWings at Scarlet's feast for Burn.

When Addax and Sunny arrived at Burn's stronghold, Burn was out looking for "a certain quintet of dragonets," and they were greeted by Smolder. Addax told him that he wanted his reward for capturing Sunny, but Smolder told him to wait in the barracks until Burn returned. It was never revealed whether or not Addax received his reward.

Thorn wanted to take revenge on Addax for stealing Sunny, but she defended him. Sunny told her that he had his reasons and that it was not worth it, saying "I'm alright, aren't I?"
