During the eggs' hatching, Taupe, Moccasin, and their siblings all spied on the eggs from behind a boulder to ensure everything was alright. Taupe was an adult female MudWing who was featured in A Guide to the Dragon World. She was the bigwings of Moccasin, Warthog, and four other unnamed MudWings. She resided in the Mud Kingdom with her siblings.

Taupe lived in the Mud Kingdom with her siblings where she had multiple egg clutches, one of which had a red egg. When she sent a letter to the queen about the red egg, the queen told her to destroy it, which Taupe did.
