Dragonet of destiny,<br />
Glory is a young female RainWing, who was the last-minute replacement for the SkyWing dragonet&nbsp;of destiny, due to the original egg being smashed by Ex-Princess Burn before the brightest night. The egg was killed alongside its thief and carrier, an IceWing minder named Hvitur. After the events of The Hidden Kingdom and The Dark Secret, Glory became the queen of both the RainWings and the NightWings after winning the RainWing throne challenge battle. Glory was unsure of the NightWings' loyalty at first, but after the events of Darkness of Dragons, she was sure that they respected her as their queen. She is currently in a relationship with Deathbringer, her self-appointed bodyguard and a former NightWing assassin.

Appearance
|Relation1 = Half-Brother
Glory has green eyes and no apparent scars on her body. She seems to prefer a red-orange color around her frill and on the undersides of her wings; however, these colors change consistently due to her tribe's natural color-changing tendencies. Despite her emotions appearing as colors on her scales, Glory dislikes it when other dragons guess her emotions in this way (such as Kinkajou does in the third book). She often attempts to bottle up her inner feelings by keeping her scales a neutral color that usually displays tranquility or calmness, and she has a shield around her mind as well, though it only appears when she is uncomfortable. However, she isn't purposefully trying to hide her thoughts from anyone. NightWing mindreaders can't get into her mind when this happens.

When Burn smashed the original SkyWing egg and killed its carrier, Hvitur, Glory's egg was stolen from the Rainforest Kingdom as a last-minute replacement by Webs. Even though Dune and Kestrel disagreed that a RainWing would be fit for the prophecy, Glory was raised under the mountain with the other four dragonets of destiny. Even so, Glory was constantly bullied by Dune and Kestrel, as they would often refer to Glory as just another "lazy RainWing" and they sometimes physically harmed her whenever they were feeling angry or frustrated. Although Webs never joined in, he never tried to stop the other two from pushing her around. Glory trained and studied harder than any of her friends, but there was still never any change in the way that the guardians treated her.

Over six years later, a huge, menacing NightWing named Morrowseer arrived under the mountain, and he was disgusted that the Talons had replaced the SkyWing egg with a RainWing one. Later that evening, he spoke with the three minders in private and gave them strict orders to have Glory dead before morning, implying that he would find them a proper SkyWing in replacement. Kestrel was the first to volunteer for Glory's murder, as she had never cared for her and the other two guardians refused to kill her themselves. After Tsunami was chained up to avoid interference, Clay escaped the mountain though the cave's river so that he could set his friends free.
|Relation3 = Daughter
|RName3    = Firefly (in a possible timeline)

After Queen Scarlet found the dragonets, she took them prisoner, sending them to the SkyWing Kingdom. Scarlet and ex-Princess Burn distrusted the prophecy, and Scarlet had planned to have them killed in her SkyWing arena. When Scarlet gave the order to chain the dragonets up, Kestrel, Dune, and Webs fought back, along with Tsunami, Glory, and Clay. However, it was futile, as Scarlet killed Dune, Webs fled, and Kestrel and the dragonets were captured.

When they arrived, Scarlet started hosting Glory as her "art" during the arena battles, where Glory was attached to a carved marble tree by a thin chain. The dragonets were chained to the arena's prison towers and Kestrel was locked away in the palace's worst dungeon. Scarlet, when Burn came to visit a few weeks later, bragged that she was probably the only queen with her "very own RainWing." Burn stated Glory a "waste of food," but her envious expression proved otherwise.

When Fjord was moments away from killing Clay in an arena fight, Tsunami tried to jump off the prison towers to save him. She unintentionally distracted everyone while Glory shot venom on Fjord's face, which spread into his neck wound and eye, poisoning and killing him. Everyone present were baffled and terrified by the deadly venom, and had no idea what it could be. Clay, unknowing that Scarlet was confused as well, guessed that she had gotten the poison from her treasury and secretly used it in the fight to help him win.
|Relation5 = Pet
|RName5    = Silver

As Clay was fighting Peril in the arena in the tradition of the Champion's Shield, Glory shot her deadly venom at Queen Scarlet’s face, melting the left side of it and making the spectators panic, which gave Peril time to free the dragonets from their chains.

Glory is an adult female RainWing and the main protagonist of The Hidden Kingdom. Formerly a dragonet of destiny, she was also partially responsible for the end of the War of SandWing Succession and the founding of Jade Mountain Academy.

After Peril set the dragonets free, Clay asked to save Kestrel; Glory and Tsunami protested, reminding the others of her cruelty and the fact that she was planning to kill Glory only days earlier. Afterwards, when Clay wondered if Peril was their "wings of fire", (in other words, their missing SkyWing dragonet), Glory felt unwanted and made a plan with Tsunami to test how loyal her friends really were. When the dragonets were traveling to the Mud Kingdom together to meet Clay's family, Glory camouflaged herself to match the environment and hid near the other dragonets while they were sleeping. Tsunami woke her friends, feigning nervousness, and asked where Glory had gone. After Clay frantically demanded they travel to the Rainforest Kingdom to retrieve her (Tsunami led them to believe she left for her home), Glory realized that her friends didn't want her to leave and came out of her camouflaged disguise.
After the events of the Exodus, Glory became queen of both the NightWing and RainWing tribes. She resides in the village and is currently in a relationship with Deathbringer.

While Clay entered the Mud Kingdom, Glory went along with him to try to find his parents. When they met Clay's mother, they discovered that she hadn't cared about him and had traded his egg for "at least two cows," as Cattail had said. On the way out, Clay accidentally met his siblings (sibs), who explained to them about all of the MudWing customs, and how he should have been their bigwings. Clay refused taking leadership of his siblings' group, though, because he didn't want to take Reed's place, and he needed to stay with his friends to stop the war.
Description
Glory has green eyesTDP and brilliant,ToP color-changing scales. According to Liana, these scales are dull and mousy in comparison to those of other RainWings.THK She has soft wings,TDP feathery ears,TDP a long body,TDP tail,TDP and neck,TDP and a long, delicate snout.TDP She is often considered very beautifulTHK and elegant.TFoH

Glory was also present when Starflight was dropped off by Morrowseer, right when Clay was talking about them staying together, and how they had to get Starflight back.
Unlike most RainWings, Glory tries to keep her scales from showing emotions.MR Therefore, she is usually seen with darkWT emeraldL2 green scalesL2 and flares of orange around her ears and the underside of her wings.WT
Glory then traveled with her friends to the SeaWing&nbsp;Kingdom to meet Tsunami's family.

The Lost Heir
Personality
Once the dragonets had arrived at the SeaWing Kingdom, they saw a SkyWing air patrol scouting the area, presumably hunting for the missing dragonets. As Glory dug for cover and turned her scales a tan color to match the sand, Tsunami dove into the nearby sea. The first few SkyWings had passed by the dragonets quickly, but there was one guard near the back who was scanning the area thoroughly and flying more slowly. Down in the waves, Tsunami convinced herself that the SkyWing had seen Sunny's tail before she dove into the forest with Starlight for cover, and she saw him open his mouth. Thinking the SkyWing was going to call out to his comrades for help, and she lunged out of the sea to attack him.
Glory is often depicted as teasing, sarcastic,TLH cross,TLH snide,TLH intelligent, fierce,TLH firm,TLH sniping,TLH and arch.TLH When Moonwatcher suggested that Glory return to the RainWing village for her safety while they searched for Icicle, she snorted as though she was sure she could handle anything.WT She has a steely ferocity about her,WT and Deathbringer describes her as reckless.WT She is thoughtfulTDG and fair.DoD Queen Glacier stated that she was an unusual queen for choosing a path toward peace and cooperation over clear and simple vengeance.WT Although she did not seem to be bothered by the memory of using her venom to attack Scarlet,TLH she is unwilling to use her venom on dragons who are unable to fight back.TLH She often refuses to take orders from anyone,TLH and Tsunami once regarded her to be the least trustworthy and most dangerous out of the dragonets of destiny.TLH She speaks for herself,TLH and the RainWing color for happiness does not often appear on her scales.TLH

Once she had knocked him unconscious and dragged him down into the ocean, Clay came over to help her drag the SkyWing to the shore. Glory was shocked and rather angry at the way Tsunami had attacked him so unprovoked, arguing that he hadn't seen anything and that he was only yawning when he opened his mouth. During the rest of The Lost Heir, Glory and her friends were imprisoned by Queen Coral, who had told Tsunami that she had only chained up the dragonets so that her tribe wouldn't feel uncomfortable with dragons from different tribes roaming freely around her court. Later, the dragonets were brought out of prison and invited to eat breakfast with the other royals in the palace, as celebration of Blister's arrival. They angered the SandWing candidate for queen during the meal, though, so they were chained up again right afterwards.
Upon meeting Winter, she beckoned him to walk beside her as an equal and greeted him as visiting royalty.WT According to Qibli, she is well-known for being a fair and kind queenWT and took her responsibilities as ruler of the NightWings seriously, being unwilling to release Icicle to Glacier's custody without confirmation that the IceWing princess would be punished for her murder of a NightWing guard. It is hard to figure out what she truly wants,TLH but Moonwatcher stated that she would not want enchanted obedience or fake love from her NightWing subjects.EP She used to believe she could do everything by herself, but that changed after the RainWing royal challenge.WT

After a brutal hurricane hit the Bay of a Thousand Scales, SkyWing soldiers began attacking the Summer Palace with flaming logs, setting fire to anything--or anyone--they touched. The dragonets knew that there was no way they could escape through the entrance tunnel; most of the group couldn't survive underwater for long, and they would be crushed if they tried to escape that way. As such, they decided to risk it and take the skies, but as they were fleeing they were confronted by a female MudWing named Crocodile, the traitor and former Talon of Peace that followed Webs to the SeaWing palace and revealed its location to her true allies, Burn's forces. Glory impulsively shot venom at the MudWing's face, and it landed in her eyes, killing her.

|content = After Burn smashed the original SkyWing egg intended for The Dragonet Prophecy and killed its carrier, Hvitur, Webs stole Glory's egg from the Rainforest Kingdom as a last-minute replacement, insisting that they had to have five dragonets for the prophecy. He had gotten in trouble with Kestrel because it was not a SkyWing egg and they supposedly could never complete The Dragonet Prophecy with a RainWing.

The group continued their escape, only to have their former guardian Webs smash through the damaged leaf canopy of the palace. Upon seeing him, Blister viciously attacked, swinging her venomous tail at the his heart. She missed, but she still managed to scratch a part of his tail. All of the dragonets, except for Clay and Sunny, had wanted to abandon Webs after they escaped from the SeaWing palace, but they eventually convinced the rest of their friends to help their former guardian. The pair made good arguments by saying the Rainforest Kingdom was nearby, and Glory surely wanted to see her home at last, and that the RainWings might have healers who could help Webs. (They reached this conclusion because the RainWings have venom themselves.)
Six years later, Morrowseer visited their cave to inspect the dragonets. He was disgusted upon seeing a RainWing included in the prophecy instead of a SkyWing and later ordered the three guardians to kill Glory before the next morning. Kestrel was assigned to kill Glory and had Tsunami chained up on the excuse of the SeaWing being the only one who could stop her. Although Tsunami and Glory protested, Clay decided to use the river to escape.

The Hidden Kingdom
Soon after Clay and Tsunami opened the boulder covering the entrance of the cave their friends were in, Scarlet confronted them, and was led to their cave by a smoke signal meant to help Clay and Tsunami find their way back. Webs fled down the river while Dune was killed by Scarlet, and the others were imprisoned and taken to the Sky Kingdom. There, Clay, Starflight, and Tsunami were forced to fight in Scarlet's gladiatorial battles, while Glory was chained and displayed as artwork. Sunny was kept inside the castle in a cage while they were in the Sky Kingdom, though Peril mentioned that she was well-cared for.
Glory is the protagonist of The Hidden Kingdom and the story is told from her point of view.

The dragonets are first shown traveling through Rainforest Kingdom, which was in the middle of a heavy rainstorm. Glory was busy hoping that her tribe would be nothing like the scrolls said, but the group was soon approached by two MudWing soldiers.
When Fjord was moments away from killing Clay in the arena, Tsunami attempted to jump off of her prison tower, unintentionally distracting everyone while Glory sprayed lethal venom on Fjord's neck and face, killing him in seconds.
As the pair grew closer, Glory snuck away to hear what the troops were saying as they walked away again. However, she suddenly heard a scream, and when she hurried to its source, the MudWings' throats were ripped out, and they were clearly dead. When Glory returned and told her friends what had happened, most of the group was wary about going further into the rainforest. However, Glory and Sunny convinced them to continue their journey.

All was peaceful until Sunny went missing. After that, Webs disappeared, Tsunami and Clay then both felt sharp pricks in their necks, and Starflight ducked under a nearby bush. After Glory demanded that their attackers show themselves, a group of RainWings--one pink and one dark blue--materialized in front of her. The pink one introduced himself as Jambu and his friend as Liana. After Glory introduced herself and Starflight, the RainWings explained that their friends were hanging from woven vine nets and had been knocked out with tranquilizer darts, but would wake up fine in a few hours. They then flew to the RainWing village, much to Glory's excitement.
Later, as Clay was fighting Peril in honor of the Champion's Shield, Glory shot her venom at the right side of Scarlet's face, causing the spectators to flee and giving Peril ample time to free the dragonets and aid them in escaping the palace.

While Glory's friends were sleeping, Starflight questioned Liana about the purpose of sun time, as she had been talking about it with Glory and himself. As she explained that it made them happier, smarter, prettier, and better at camouflage, Glory settled down to sleep for sun time on a platform offered by Jambu. When she woke up, she was greeted by a silver sloth that was asleep in the crook between her shoulder and wing. Glory then told Jambu about how she needed to find her parents; Jambu was confused, but he offered to show her how the RainWing family system worked anyway.
After rescuing Kestrel and Sunny, Glory suggested that Peril was possibly their "wings of sky" and the prophecy's true SkyWing, which Clay eagerly discussed with Peril. Glory felt unwanted and formed a plan with Tsunami to test Clay's loyalty; later that night, Tsunami woke Clay and pretended that Glory had run away to the Rainforest Kingdom. Clay insisted that they abandon their plans to travel to the Mud Kingdom and meet his family until they found Glory again; Glory then realized that Clay would never want her to leave, and revealed that she had not run away.

Glory agreed, and they took flight. A while away from the village, Jambu angled down toward a green structure shaped like a huge egg, with holes in the roof that let sunlight in through the overlapping leaves; the bottom, though, was tightly woven with overlapping vines and branches. Jambu explained that this was one-third of all the tribe's eggs; that they were all raised together and checked on every few days. Glory, confused, asked how a RainWing knew if they were related to someone else. Jambu explained the "venom test," which is a way to tell if two RainWings belong to the same family. Jambu spat his venom on a large oval leaf from a nearby tree, and Glory did the same. Surprisingly, Glory's venom canceled out Jambu's entirely where their venom met, and he cheerfully explained that they were probably half-brother and sister.
Once the dragonets reached the outskirts of the Mud Kingdom, Glory, disguising herself as a MudWing, volunteered to go with Clay while the others waited near a small waterfall to avoid tribal tension. When Clay met his mother, Cattail, they found out that she had sold his egg to the Talons of Peace for at least two cows, and therefore did not care about him at all. Whilst leaving the Mud Kingdom, Clay was confronted by a group of five MudWings who turned out to be his siblings. Clay learned that he should have been the group's bigwings. Reed offered to step down and let Clay lead, but he refused, as he still needed to stop the war and take care of his friends. Glory added that Clay could not be their bigwings since he was the dragonets' bigwings.

As Glory arrived at her friends' pavilion, Webs, Tsunami, Clay, and Sunny had already begun to wake up, while Starflight was still on watch. Sunny said that Webs' scratch had gotten worse and that he needed a healer. Agreeing, Starflight asked Jambu and Liana for an audience with Ex-Queen Dazzling. Puzzled, Jambu asked if they'd rather see the current queen, if it was so important. Glory, in disbelief, learned that the RainWings took turns being queen; however, she asked for directions to the current queen's palace anyway. After arriving at the queen's "palace" (which turned out to be a large treehouse) the dragonets waited in line to see Ex-Queen Magnificent. Mangrove, one of the dragons in line, told Glory that his mate, Orchid, had been missing for three weeks and that he was asking the queen to send out a search party. Glory asked if she could watch while he spoke to the queen, and Mangrove, after Glory said that someone should investigate, said that she should be the one to find the missing RainWings.
Glory was also present when Starflight dropped in during Clay's speech about finding their lost friend. She then accompanied the others on the way to the Kingdom of the Sea in hopes of meeting Tsunami's family.

|content = While discussing what to do next, Glory and the others saw a SkyWing air patrol scouting the area, probably looking for the dragonets themselves. Glory camouflaged herself on the sand, Starflight and Sunny hid in the nearby forest, and Tsunami dove into the ocean. After the majority of the patrol moved on, Tsunami attacked a soldier in midair and knocked him into the sea. With Clay's help, she pulled him to shore. Glory felt angrily surprised at Tsunami's irrational behavior, but they eventually set leaves over the guard's face before flying away.

Clay and Starflight then came with her to question Mangrove. He agreed to take them to the last place Orchid was seen, which turned out to be beside a huge fallen tree that was a short while away from the village. As Starflight tracked a sickly-smelling trail, the four arrived at a small waterfall, which had two fat black trees on either side and a pool at the base, where a wheezing silver sloth lay - the source of the sickly smell. After checking around the huge rock it was laying next to, Glory found a black hole - or a doorway - in the middle of the boulder.
Once the dragonets arrived at the Summer Palace, Glory and the others were locked up in one of Coral's caves while Tsunami explored the palace. The dragonets almost drowned in a flood in the dungeons, but were freed by Tsunami and Riptide and brought into a comfier cave. The cave happened to belong to Blister, who found the dragonets, convinced Coral to release them, and invited them to breakfast.

After Clay and Starflight saw the tunnel for themselves, Glory speculated that it had something to do with the missing RainWings. The four agreed to have Starflight return in the morning with a plan, the longest, strongest vines they could find, and the rest of their friends. Sending Starflight and Mangrove back to the village, Clay and Glory settled in a large tree, where they could watch the pond and the tunnel for the night.
After angering Blister, the dragonets were locked up in the prison, which was guarded by electric eels. With the help of Anemone, they broke free and planned to escape the Summer Palace. However, SkyWing soldiers began attacking the Summer Palace with dragonflame cacti and flaming logs. As Glory and the others were fleeing, Crocodile, the MudWing that led the troops to the Summer Palace, confronted them. To protect the others from the danger, Glory sprayed venom in Crocodile's eyes, killing her.

Around midnight, they heard loud stamping noises accompanied by sniffling and snorting. Then, something tramped near the pond and proceeded to crunch and slurp on something in it, slithering back into what was probably the hole when it finished. When the sun started rising again, all that was left of the infected sloth were a few scraps of silver fur and some blood-spattered leaves.
After they escaped, the group decided to travel to the Rainforest Kingdom in an attempt to help Webs and find Glory's family.

|content = Glory was first shown flying through the rain with her friends. A pair of MudWing soldiers walked by, and the dragonets hid among the fog. After hiding Sunny, Glory left them momentarily to investigate. Hearing a scream from the soldiers' location, Glory discovered that the soldiers had been killed by blows to their throats. Most of the group was wary about continuing into the rainforest, but Glory and Sunny eventually convinced them to move on.

Once Clay, Sunny, Tsunami, and Jambu returned with vine ropes, they decided that Glory would go into the hole with Clay, both with the vines tied around their shoulders and orders to tug on them three times if something was wrong. Handing Silver, (The sloth's new name) to Sunny, Glory followed Clay as he stepped into the tunnel. The hole led into the Kingdom of Sand within sight of Princess Burn's stronghold; once Glory and Clay returned to tell their friends, Mangrove suddenly ran past them, disappearing into the tunnel. Glory set Silver on a nearby tree and ran after him, but he was just a green dot in the sky by the time she got there; it looked like he was heading to the Ice Kingdom, which meant that was where they were going next.
On the edge of the rainforest, Glory's friends disappeared right in front of her eyes. Startled, she looked back up and demanded that the attackers show themselves and a large group of RainWings materialized in front of them. One introduced himself as Jambu and his friend as Liana, and gestured to the treetops, where their missing friends were hanging in woven leaf nets. Jambu explained that they were rendered unconscious with blow darts and would wake up soon. He led them to the RainWing village, where their friends were placed on a leaf platform.

After a night of uncomfortable sleep in the base of a short cliff, Glory and Starflight were the first two to wake up. After Starflight went back to sleep, Glory took to the air and saw a structure ahead of her that turned out to be a fortress with smoke rising from its chimneys, presumably belonging to Blaze and her SandWings. Then, she spotted a black dragon a little ways away, and had hoped it was Mangrove camouflaging himself as a NightWing; but then he breathed out fire, and that meant that there was an actual lone NightWing on IceWing territory.
As the others were still unconscious, Jambu and Liana explained the purpose of sun time to Glory, and Starflight reassured her that he would watch over her while she slept. When she awoke, she discovered a dozing sloth curled between her shoulder and wing; Jambu explained that sloths were like pets to the RainWings and that this one had apparently 'chosen her'. Glory was at first hesitant to let the sloth stay with her, but eventually grew fond of her and decided to let her stay. Jambu then took her to see the three RainWing Hatcheries, where all of the tribe's eggs were raised and hatched together. He explained that the RainWing tribe did not have a family system and that RainWing dragonets were raised by the entire tribe.

Suspicious, Glory camouflaged herself as an IceWing - referencing Fjord, to be exact - and flared up her now-blue ruff as an illusion of the IceWings' extra horns. Confronting him, the dragon explained that he was waiting for "a few someones" and that he was on a secret NightWing mission. He asked if she'd seen the Dragonets of Destiny anywhere, and as Glory was flying away he told her that his name was Deathbringer.
Glory asked how any RainWing would know if they were related to someone else, and Jambu introduced the venom test. In this, two dragons mixed their venom, and if one diluted the other one the two dragons are related. Jambu suggested trying the venom test between themselves, and Jambu's venom canceled out Glory's, which suggested that they were probably half-brother and sister.

When Glory returned to their camp and explained her encounter, the dragonets guessed that Mangrove was hiding somewhere in Blaze's fortress. Taking Jambu with her, Glory scouted the building and figured out that they would have to get in through the main door. Thus, Glory disguised herself as an IceWing named Penguin and Jambu as a lighter IceWing named Storm, both of whom were sent by Queen Glacier. After a SandWing guard almost spotted them, the Glory and Jambu spoke with another SandWing, who offered to take them to see Blaze right away when they asked for an audience with her. This surprised both of them, as they hadn't expected Blaze to be lounging around her fortress at that very moment.
After the others woke, Sunny told them that Webs' scratch had gotten worse and that he would need to see a healer. Starflight asked Jambu and Liana for an audience with Dazzling, but Jambu asked if they would rather see the current queen. Glory then learned, to her shock, that six RainWings took turns as queen, each reigning for one month at a time. Jambu led them to the queen's treehouse to see the current ruler, Magnificent, where they waited in a line with a few other RainWings. Mangrove, one of the dragons in line, told Glory that his partner, Orchid, had gone missing three weeks ago and that he was again requesting a search party for her. Glory, intrigued, asked if she could watch while Mangrove spoke to the queen, and he agreed. After speaking with Bromeliad, she learned that the RainWing's student, Kinkajou, had also gone missing, and she suggested that she combine her audience with Mangrove's since their issues were so similar.

While speaking with the princess, Glory told her that the dragonets were here, but that they weren't willing to risk coming inside the fortress. Reluctantly, Blaze agreed to go outside, throwing a brown camelskin blanket around her shoulders. While they were walking out, Glory distracted Blaze by asking about one of the tapestries adorning the stone walls, which gave Jambu time to grab the camouflaged Mangrove and usher him out the door. Later down the hallway, Glory and Jambu saw two pitiful-looking scavengers shivering in a freezing cage. After they took one each on their backs, hiding them between their folded wings, they dropped the scavengers on the snow beside the fortress before following Blaze back to their friends.
Sunny showed Magnificent Webs' injury. The queen gave them directions to the healers' treehouse but seemed uninterested when Glory suggested gathering information about the missing RainWings. Unwilling to do the job herself, she appointed Glory as an investigator.

While Blaze introduced herself to the dragonets, Deathbringer landed behind her with two throwing stars in his talons. After throwing one that embedded itself in Tsunami's wing and another in Blaze's neck, Glory tackled the NightWing while Clay patched up Blaze's wound with her blanket. When she saw the oncoming IceWing patrol with Glacier at its head, she threatened to tie him up and leave him to their mercy if he didn't fly away right that moment. After Deathbringer left, the dragonets, Mangrove, and Jambu headed for home. After Glory and the others arrived, Glory and Tsunami decided to spend the night in the same tree as the night before; Glory thought that Tsunami's night vision would be useful. As the "monster" started crashing around their hiding spot again, he was interrupted by whistling, which matched the "Dragonets are Coming" song.
Glory, Clay, and Starflight went to see Mangrove while Sunny and Tsunami took Webs to the healer's hut. They found and asked Mangrove for details on Orchid's disappearance.

Alarmed, the "monster" retreated back into his tunnel, and when their whistling culprit came into view, Glory wasn't surprised that it was Deathbringer. As Glory tied him to a tree with vines, she sent Tsunami back to the RainWing village to get Clay so that he could watch the NightWing instead. Once Clay came and relieved her shift, Glory used herself as bait by going alone into the rainforest, eventually arriving at a clearing that was marked with black, harmless stains. As she bent to sniff one of the tiny footprints embedded in the mud, she was knocked out by a heavy blow to the back of her head.
He agreed to take them to the last place Orchid was seen, which turned out to be beside a huge fallen tree that was relatively near the village. As they tracked a sickly-smelling trail, the four arrived at a small waterfall where a dying sloth lay, the apparent source of the smell. Looking around, Glory saw what looked like a black hole — or a doorway — on the side of a boulder.

Once Glory regained her senses, she felt herself being dragged down a long tunnel - but it wasn't the one she had guessed, as this one sloped down instead of straight. When one of her kidnappers mentioned how Deathbringer had warned him about the dragonets, Glory started trying to desperately tear through the canvas with her bound claws in order to warn her friends. After some shouting, she was knocked out again, only to awake in a prison stationed next to a flowing river of lava. There was a young RainWing in her cell, who introduced herself as Kinkajou. Because of her young age, her talons, mouth and wings were not bound by silver bands, as the other RainWing captives' were. While Glory communicated to Kinkajou through talon gestures, she discovered that the NightWing guards took off her mouth band when she ate. As a NightWing guard stepped forward with a three-pronged spear designed to unlock her band, he jumped out of the way; but not fast enough. He lay creaking in pain at the edge of their cell until Glory pushed him out into the dark ravine below.
After showing the entrance to Clay and Starflight, Glory speculated that it had something to do with the missing RainWings. They agreed that Starflight would return in the morning with a plan, the strongest vines they could find, and the rest of their friends. Sending Starflight and Mangrove back to the village, Clay and Glory settled near a large tree to watch the pond and the tunnel for the night.

As the second guard fled, the third retaliated when Glory tried to venom him, pinning Glory to the floor. Surprisingly, Kinkajou sprayed venom between his wings, causing him to release Glory. As Glory realized that she'd never get her bonds off before the second guard raised an alarm, she ordered the first guard to carry them across the lava river.
Around midnight, they heard loud stamping, sniffing, and snorting. Something moved near the pond and proceeded to eat something, then slithered back into the hole. When the sun rose, all that was left of the dying sloth were a few scraps of fur and blood-spattered leaves.

When the NightWing only responded with a groan, Clay and Deathbringer showed up just in time for their rescue. While Clay carried Glory on his back, Kinkajou and Deathbringer flew by themselves. However, Deathbringer circled back to join his tribe when they neared the tunnel, as he didn't want to be punished for helping them. After Glory, Clay, and Kinkajou fought with the NightWing guards stationed at the tunnel, they fled into the rainforest, where Glory spoke with Queen Magnificent about what she had seen. When the queen didn't seem to care about her missing subjects and refused to save them, Glory challenged Magnificent for the RainWing throne, as she knew that she couldn't save the prisoners without the power of an army. Instead of a battle to the death to become queen, the RainWings had devised a series of challenges that included things such as camouflage, flower hunting, venom-shooting contests, tree gliding, and fruit gathering.
Once Clay, Sunny, Tsunami, and Jambu returned with vines, they decided that Glory and Clay would go into the hole, both with vines tied around their shoulders and directions to tug on them if something was wrong. Handing her sloth to Sunny, Glory and Clay stepped into the tunnel. It led Kingdom of Sand near Burn's stronghold, but once Glory and Clay returned to tell their friends, Mangrove ran past them and disappeared into the tunnel. Glory ran after him, but he was barely visible by the time she got there. It looked like he was heading to the Ice Kingdom, which meant that that was where they were going next.

By the final venom-shooting contest, Glory and Magnificent's teams were tied. Kinkajou, competing against Grandeur, was losing by the end of the tie-breaking match, but a sloth tumbled out of the trees in front of the target board right after Grandeur had spat her venom. Kinkajou jumped up and tried to push the sloth out of the way, but Grandeur spat her venom and injured Kinkajou's wing in result, leaving three smoldering black holes in the membrane. Frantic, Glory started trying her own venom in order to counteract Grandeur's, and surprisingly, the melting stopped as their venom met. Grandeur forfeit the contest when she figured out that Glory was descended from the original RainWing royal family, knowing that Glory would be a better queen than any of the current ones. Glory was officially crowned the queen of the RainWings at the end of the book, but Clay suddenly appeared through the cheering tribe with news of Starflight's disappearance, as well as a guess that he had gone to warn his tribe about the Glory's plan to free the RainWing prisoners.
After a night of uncomfortable sleep, Glory and Starflight were the first to wake up. Starflight went back to sleep, and Glory took to the air and saw a fortress with smoke rising from its chimneys ahead, presumably belonging to Blaze. She spotted a black dragon, hoping that it was Mangrove camouflaging himself, but then he breathed out fire. There was an actual lone NightWing on IceWing territory.

The Dark Secret
Suspicious, Glory camouflaged herself as an IceWing and flared up her ruff as an illusion of the IceWings' extra horns. Confronting him, he explained that he was waiting for "a few someones" and was on a secret NightWing mission. He asked if she had seen the dragonets of destiny anywhere, and as Glory was flying away he told her that his name was Deathbringer.
In the time that Starflight was trapped on the NightWings' volcano, he found a dreamvisitor, which he used to contact Glory in a dream to warn her that the NightWings were planning something. When Starflight, (along with Fatespeaker and Flame), returned to their friend's overjoyed welcome, they discussed the plan to infiltrate the NightWings' home and rescue the captured RainWings. Glory was worried, however, that most of her tribe wouldn't be able to use their venom on another dragon, even if it meant life or death. Sunny, though, found a solution by suggesting that the RainWings use their tranquilizer guns and darts to knock the NightWing guards out, which avoided violence on both sides.

After the first wave of RainWings knocked the tunnel's guards out, Glory took Starflight with her to one of the RainWings' cages so that he could show her how to unlock them. Glory sent other members of her tribe to rescue any other RainWings that they saw, and to camouflage themselves as NightWings while they did so. While Glory and Starflight were searching for the NightWing ruler, Queen Battlewinner, they found her daughter, Princess Greatness, snooping around the fortress. Glory ordered Greatness to lead them to her mother, along with the threat of venom if she refused. The princess led them down a small tunnel that led to Battlewinner's throne room, which was empty except for a huge black pot of lava in the center. When Battlewinner emerged, Glory told her that she was never going to make it to the rainforest alive, and that she should give the NightWing tribe to Glory so that they would not share the same fate.
When Glory returned to their camp and explained her encounter, the other guessed that Mangrove was hiding in Blaze's fortress. Taking Jambu with her, Glory scouted the building and realized that they would have to get in through the main door. She disguised herself as an IceWing named Storm, and Jambu as another IceWing named Penguin, claiming to be sent by Queen Glacier. A SandWing offered to take them to see Blaze right away when they asked for an audience with her, surprising both of them. They had not expected Blaze to be lounging around her fortress at that very moment.

Battlewinner, seething, refused and flung herself at Glory - but it was no use, as the ice was taking over her body in the absence of the lava. After the former NightWing queen froze to death, the ground started to shake and rumble. Glory and Starflight hastily ran to the NightWing dungeons, where they freed Deathbringer and Queen Splendor with a set of keys found in a coal niche. As they exited the fortress, Starflight told the gathered NightWings that accepting Glory's rule was the only way to live, unless they wanted to fly over the ocean. Tsunami, stationed at the tunnel, required each NightWing to pledge their allegiance to Glory before she allowed them to pass.
Glory told Blaze that the dragonets were here, but that they were not willing to risk coming inside the fortress. The princess reluctantly agreed to go outside, throwing a blanket on. While they walked towards the door, Glory distracted Blaze by asking about one of the tapestries adorning the stone walls, which gave Jambu time to grab the camouflaged Mangrove and pull him out the door. Glory and Jambu saw two scavengers shivering in a freezing cage. After they took them outside, they dropped the scavengers on the snow beside the fortress before following Blaze back to their friends.

As the last few remaining NightWings fled into the tunnel, the volcano exploded. Clay tried to shield Starflight with his fireproof scales, but he wasn't fast enough, as the fire had permanently blinded Starflight's eyes.
While Blaze introduced herself to the dragonets, Deathbringer landed behind her with two throwing stars in his talons. He hit Blaze in the neck, and also accidentally hit Tsunami in the wing before Glory tackled him. When she saw an incoming IceWing patrol with Queen Glacier at its head, she threatened to leave him to their mercy if he did not fly away immediately. He left, and after they ensured that Blaze was safe, the dragonets, Mangrove, and Jambu headed for home. After they returned to the rainforest, Glory and Tsunami decided to spend the night in the same tree as the night before, as Glory thought that Tsunami's night vision might be useful. As the thing that came from the tunnel began crashing around their hiding spot again, it was interrupted by someone whistling the "The Dragonets are Coming" song.

The Brightest Night
Whatever it was, it retreated into the tunnel, and when the whistler came into view, Glory was not surprised that it was Deathbringer. Glory tied him to a tree with vines and sent Tsunami back to the RainWing village to get Clay so that he could watch the NightWing instead. Once Clay came and relieved her shift, Glory decided to use herself as bait: she went alone into the rainforest, eventually arriving at a clearing that was marked with black, harmless stains. As she bent to sniff one of the footprints embedded in the mud, she was knocked out by a heavy blow to the back of her head.
When Sunny was kidnapped by three traitorous NightWings, (Preyhunter, Strongwings, and Fierceteeth), Glory was in a panic, sending out several search parties to find her. When the SandWing returned, she explained her capture and how she had finally met her mother, Thorn. Glory was angry but relieved, but she was excited most of all by Sunny's plan for stopping the war. Sunny would talk to each of the SandWing sisters by using a dreamvisitor, telling them to meet in Burn's Stronghold on the false Brightest Night.

At the meeting, Blister gave Burn a box with two dragonbite vipers inside. As Burn trapped one under her talons, the other bit her other foot and raced toward the dragonets. While Sunny and Fatespeaker tried to get Starflight off the ground, Clay slammed into them in order to save Starflight; however, he received a bad wound on his thigh. Glory helped to hold Clay down while Peril burned out the poison in his leg. She also helped to dig up Queen Oasis' Grave to get the Eye of Onyx and the other lost SandWing treasure.
Once Glory regained her senses, she felt herself being dragged down a long tunnel. So that she could not use her venom and escape, she was bound and gagged. The tunnel was not the one she had guessed — this one sloped downward. One of her kidnappers mentioned how Deathbringer had warned him about the dragonets, but before she could think about this she was knocked out again, only to awake in a prison stationed next to a flowing river of lava. There was a young RainWing in her cell, who introduced herself as Kinkajou. Glory discovered that the NighWings had been capturing the RainWings and brought them to their secret home, the island. Because of her young age, her talons, mouth, and wings were not bound, unlike the other RainWing captives. Glory communicated to Kinkajou through talon gestures and discovered that the NightWing guards took off her gag when it was time to feed her. After her gag was taken off for her meal, she sprayed venom towards one of the guards. He jumped out of the way, but not fast enough.

Although Glory does not have an appearance in Moon Rising, she is mentioned by Moon's mother, hinted at being unfit for a ruler due to her young age.

As she hauled the NightWing off of the young prince, Winter explained that his sister Icicle was coming to kill Glory on Queen Scarlet's orders. One RainWing mentioned a patch of ice near the Bayan Tree; Glory and Winter prepared to leave, along with Moon and Qibli. Near the tree, there was an unnaturally shaped mound of dirt, which contained a bloodied and frozen NightWing. As Glory realized that Icicle was nearby, she sent the four dragonets to the RainWing Wingery for their own safety.

While the dragonets escaped from the Wingery, Kinkajou left a trail for Glory to follow. As Kinkajou and Icicle were fighting in the abandoned Night Kingdom, Glory tranquilized the IceWing and took her back to the RainWing village. As Winter was arguing with Qibli when the SandWing offered to help save Winter's brother, Hailstorm, Glory tells Winter that she felt the same way that he did then: that she could have done everything by herself and didn't need anyone else, but that he would appreciate his friends' help later on.

Glory is fierce, sarcastic, independent and smart. Besides Tsunami, she is the most prickly of the four dragonets; this could stem from lack of sun time or from her abusive childhood. She has a sarcastic sense of humor, and finds it difficult to admit when she loves someone, as she rarely uses displays of affection. After becoming queen of the RainWings and NightWings, however, she has grown closer to Deathbringer, and she has refrained from being snappy and sarcastic because of the responsibility of queenship.

Glory left Grandeur and Mangrove in charge of the rainforest, while she and the other dragonets of destiny were at the summit. At the meeting, Glory brought fifteen RainWings disguised as SkyWings, NightWings, and MudWings; believing it would cause fewer complications. Glory also allowed Deathbringer to bring five trustworthy NightWings so that all tribes could be represented. Glory herself was a SkyWing and pointed out the irony in replacing the SkyWing in the prophecy, yet appearing to be one when the prophecy was finally fulfilled. Glory was in Pineapple's vision. In the vision, she came to wake Jambu from his sleep and asked for Jambu to come with her to Sanctuary for a queen's gathering. Jambu refused as he found politics boring. Pineapple offered to go in his place, which Jambu happily agreed to as he went back to sleep.

"Well, I can think of lots of ways to keep her busy. For one, she can find me someone to yell at. I seriously cannot believe this. If I didn't have to act like a queen right now, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh." - to Tsunami in The Brightest Night.
Glory later appeared in Tsunami's vision. In that vision, she was arguing with Tsunami over which kingdom was the biggest. Starflight asked for them to not fight over the map as Kestrel would punish them if they tore the map. Sunny added that Clay may tell her that it was his fault and punish him instead. Clay responded by saying that it did not matter how big the kingdoms were, but rather which kingdom had the best food.

"The queen can take care of herself. Out of the two dragons in question, the queen happens to be the one with camouflage scales who can shoot venom. What can you do? Sit in the dark, is that it? Guess what, I can do that, too." - to Deathbringer in The Brightest Night.
At the beginning of the RainWing chapter, Starflight and Glory exchanged letters about the inclusion of RainWing scrolls in the guide. Kinkajou featured Glory as a character in her story about Silver. Glory provided Starflight with a version of Dangers of the Rainforest with updates she wrote herself. Glory was later mentioned by Jambu who said that she believed RainWing camouflage was "an excellent defensive battle strategy" during his explanation about RainWing color-changing abilities.

"He's just trying to make his list look longer than mine."- to Sunny in The Brightest Night
In the SkyWing chapter, Glory was mentioned on a list of dragons that Scarlet wanted to kill. Her thoughts on her inclusion in the note were seen in the margins of the page.

Relationships
Clay
Since hatching, Glory has shared a strong bond with Clay. It was mentioned that he had often given Glory pretty things to cheer her up, and he was willing to risk his life to save her own in The Dragonet Prophecy. Glory trusts Clay completely and thinks of him as honest and kind. Clay is also quick to try and resolve conflicts between Glory and the others, and he is always ready to forgive Glory whenever she has been unfair. Glory was overjoyed when Clay came to rescue her from the NightWing Island. Glory would kill to protect him.TLH Clay was devastated when he believed that Glory was dead.EP Glory did not want Clay to risk his life in the river and instead suggested that she could camouflage herself instead.TDP

"That is a level of noisy that makes me think you aren't even trying to be stealthy. Come on out." - to Qibli in Winter Turning.
Deathbringer
When Glory first met Deathbringer, she had been disguised as an IceWing, trying to probe information out of him. Given her personality, Deathbringer gave her more information than what was intended about his mission and then began to flirt with her. Glory is sarcastic with him and does not like his flirting, but he likes her even more because of it and helps her escape the NightWing Island when she is imprisoned. Deathbringer takes his role as Glory's bodyguard very seriously, sometimes to an excessive degree. Glory mentioned that she viewed Deathbringer's attempted arrest of Winter as annoying instead of romantic or heroic,WT but she also spoke to him in a low, surprisingly affectionate voice that made Winter rethink everything he had assumed about the queen and her overenthusiasticWT bodyguard. Deathbringer once stated that he was half a dragon before he met Glory, and would be even less if he lost her.WT Deathbringer likes her for her personality and how when he suggests something, she shoots him down, which he finds amusing.

"Well, that's great. For the first time in my life, I act as lazy as everyone thinks RainWings are, and you actually believe it. I'm glad my friends have so much faith in me." - to her friends in The Dragonet Prophecy.
In The Dark Secret, Deathbringer described her as beautiful, sarcastic, and fascinating. Glory also said she was not leaving without Deathbringer. When Glory was helping him out of the prison, Glory retorted at him, but Starflight saw that she and Deathbringer "exchanged a look that said, 'thank you' and a whole lot more." Adding to that, in The Brightest Night, Deathbringer continued flirting with her, which Glory dismissed. He even put his wing around Glory and she let him, which was somewhat unusual given her personality. In Moon Rising, Moon had a vision of Glory and Deathbringer's possible future having an heir together named Firefly. In Winter Turning, Deathbringer is constantly trying to protect Glory and muttering to the queen when she says she does not need help. In Escaping Peril, Sunny says "Glory has magical death spit and Deathbringer and a whole army of RainWings who would die for her." It is implied that Glory and Deathbringer have feelings for one another, and their romantic relationship has been made officially canon by Tui T. Sutherland. It was once stated that Glory failed to keep her scales from turning pink when Deathbringer laid one wing over her. Glory sometimes shows annoyance when Deathbringer flirts with her.

"I can get my army ready to fly in an hour. Sure. Organizing RainWings, no problem. It's only roughly as hard as getting a hundred butterflies to fly in a straight line." - to Sunny in The Dark Secret.
Grandeur
Grandeur is Glory's advisor as well as a fellow royal, proven when Glory's venom counteracted hers. She consistently aided Glory and her friends. Since she is Glory's advisor, she is trusted enough to run the kingdom alongside Mangrove when Glory left for the Great War's peace summit. Grandeur believes that Glory deserves to be queen, and because of this, forfeited her venom spitting contest with Kinkajou, letting Glory become queen.

"So now what? Should we shout 'Hey SeaWings, we've got your missing princess!' and wait for dragons to bound joyfully out of the ocean?" - to Tsunami in The Lost Heir.
Jambu
Glory did not know that she had a half-brother until she met him in the Rainforest Kingdom. Glory was unimpressed with him at first and considered him to be just as ridiculous as the other RainWings. However, Jambu helped her get Blaze to meet the dragonets, and he nearly beat Exquisite in the tree-gliding competition, one of the five contests that decided who would become the queen of the RainWings. He was only stopped when Exquisite's sloths entangled him with a snare made of vines. He appears to be one of Glory’s most trusted dragons now, even if he seems incompetent. He also makes sure Glory takes her daily sun time, noting that it makes her less grumpy and more recharged. She considers him a dragon she knows she can count on, as she asked him to come with her to Sanctuary for a queen's summit.TFoH

"Listen. I used to think I could do everything by myself, too. I didn't want help from anyone. But I wouldn't be here now if it weren't for my friends, and I have a feeling you'll be saying the same thing a year from now." - to Winter in Winter Turning.
Kestrel
Kestrel and Glory never liked each other. Kestrel did not like RainWings in general, and would often call Glory a "lazy RainWing," even though Glory trained and studied harder than the other dragonets of destiny. Kestrel also hated Glory because she was a last-minute substitute for the broken SkyWing egg. She and Dune would call Glory a mistake and growl at her a lot. When Morrowseer told the guardians to kill Glory, Kestrel claimed that she did not care about her.

"All right, OFF. I am going to replace you as my bodyguard if you seriously can't tell the difference between a male IceWing traveling with my friends Kinkajou and Moonwatcher, and a lone female IceWing out to kill me. Pay a little more attention to detail, Deathbringer. Also, by the way, you're one to talk about killing prophecy dragonets." - to Deathbringer in Winter Turning.
Kinkajou
Though Glory did not initially think much of the dragonet, she had respect for Kinkajou after learning how Kinkajou had been able to visit the other RainWings.THK She aided Glory in escaping and claims that she would follow her anywhere, even when Glory threatened to take the throne by force. She chose Tamarin for the RainWing royal challenge partially because the dragonet was friends with Kinkajou.THK She participated in the venom targeting part of the RainWing royal challenge on Glory's behalf and was injured by Grandeur's venom. She is later shown in a dream to see Glory as a big, beautiful queen, crowned and welcoming Kinkajou with open wings, while the other dragons stare at her enviously. Kinkajou also was willing to fight Icicle because she threatened to kill Glory. Kinkajou sees herself as one of Glory's best friends, and Glory sees Kinkajou as one of her favorite subjects. Another hint of affection towards Kinkajou from Glory is when she said she wanted her and Moon to stay away from the SkyWings' former queen, Scarlet, when Glory said she and Moon were her favorite subjects. Kinkajou is shown to be very loyal to her queen and friend.

"Stop arresting my guests. It's not romantic or heroic, it's annoying. I've told you this before." - to Deathbringer in Winter Turning.
Mangrove
Glory seems to have a good relationship with Mangrove, due to her interest in finding the missing RainWings. He was especially thankful when Orchid was successfully rescued. Glory also appears to trust him, as she appointed him – along with Grandeur – to run the kingdom while she attended the summit.

"Yes, and that certainly helped. Good news: Four of your students have gone off to find a dragon who just tried to kill you, in order to find another dragon who has tried to kill you about ninety dozen times. Oh, excellent, thanks, Turtle. Now we don't have to worry at all. I mean, we were hoping someone would take care of the vengeful and deadly Queen Scarlet for us. Preferably a bunch of five-year-olds. Very reassuring indeed." - to Kinkajou in Winter Turning.
Moonwatcher
Glory was first mentioned with Moon when the latter came to the rainforest to look for Icicle with Qibli, Winter, and Kinkajou in Winter Turning. They ended up meeting Glory when Obsidian and Bromeliad took them to the NightWing village, and then to the Queen's Pavilion. Glory seems to like Moon, calling her and Kinkajou her favorite subjects. Glory was very protective of Moon; she trusted Moon enough to pick her as the NightWing representative to journey to Pantala and help stop the othermind.

"This could have happened-could still happen-to any of you. If you won't go rescue them, who will? They'll be lost forever. I know you'd rather sleep than deal with problems, but these dragons are from your tribe, and they need you. That's why I'm going to take the throne tomorrow. It's not because I want the biggest pieces of fruit or or the highest sun platform. I'm doing this for the missing RainWings and for you, so that you don't have to spend the rest of your lives looking over your shoulders and thinking, our friends are still lost . . . and we could have saved them." - to the RainWing tribe in The Hidden Kingdom.
Peril
Glory is on neutral terms with Peril. However, Glory sometimes shows dislike for Peril, specifically when Clay suggested that Peril could be the "Wings of Sky." Peril describes Glory as "far from her favorite fan." Glory calls Sunny brave for talking Peril into saving Thorn, which the RainWing admits would have made her nervous.TBN However, Glory is very grateful that Peril saved Clay's life at the SandWing stronghold when a dragonbite viper bit him.

"Well, lucky you, you're about to find out." - to Crocodile in The Lost Heir.
Scarlet
Glory was imprisoned by Scarlet and treated as artwork throughout much of The Dragonet Prophecy. She often remembers her first time put under the sun and fed fruit, but always eventually reminds herself that she was used as if she was an artifact. Glory and Ex-Queen Scarlet had an extremely negative relationship; this largely came from the fact that she melted half of Scarlet's face with her venom, which Scarlet held deep in her heart and constantly swore vengeance over. Scarlet hated Glory enough to try to get Icicle to kill her.

"Aww... Your lectures are even cuter when I can't understand a word of them." - to Clay in The Hidden Kingdom.
Silver
Silver is Glory's pet sloth and the two seem quite close. Silver reminded her of Sunny in a way.THK Initially she did not think much of the sloth and even suggested that she may eat the sloth.THK However, she was willing to stop Tsunami from attempting to kill Silver.THK She had slowly taken a liking for Silver, though she did not want to show her affection for the sloth in front of her friends.THK Glory grew angry for Silver's sake after Magnificent scared her to win her round of the contest.THK

"How about a trail of cow parts, too? And a map of where we’re going? Or perhaps we could set this part of the forest on fire, just to make sure everyone knows how to find us. Would you like me to spell out 'DRAGONETS WUZ HERE’ in giant rocks?" - to Tsunami in The Lost Heir.
Starflight
Although Glory is often annoyed by Starflight's know-it-all personality and rambling, she still appears to love him like a brother or friend and would kill to protect him.TLH She knew about his crush on Sunny and thought he should do something about it.THK She also shows affection to him on rare occasions. She respects his plans, as she followed his idea of diplomacy in The Dark Secret, and trusts his intelligence.THK

“ I’ve always figured torturing our sleeping friends would be funny.” - to Starflight in The Hidden Kingdom
Sunny
In The Hidden Kingdom, Glory decided Sunny was better to touch than Webs, even though she is not comfortable touching other dragons. This was a rare case of affection from Glory. Glory was also extremely worried when Sunny went missing in The Brightest Night and held her talons in hers when she was found. Sunny helped break up arguments between Tsunami and Glory by always making it seem like she was on their side. As with Clay and the others, Glory has a strong connection with Sunny. She would kill to protect her,TLH and Sunny views Glory as indestructible and amazing.EP When Sunny thought Glory might be dead, she broke down, covering her face with her talons and curling into a ball with her wings over her head.EP

Relationships
Tamarin
Clay
Glory initially did not know Tamarin well, other than the fact that she was blind. Tamarin seemed confident in front of Glory when she said that maybe she could not do the flower challenge, with Kinkajou later stating that Tamarin had the best nose in the whole kingdom. At first, Glory doubted her abilities, but when Tamarin won the flower hunt in the RainWing queen challenge, she began to see that she was a skilled dragonet despite her blindness. She also felt compassionate about getting Tamarin a better teacher at Jade Mountain Academy.TBNe
Glory and Clay have known each other since birth, and he has always been an adoptive big brother to her. It was mention in The Dragonet Prophecy that he often brought her pretty things to cheer her up. He was also willing to risk his own life to save Glory from being killed by Kestrel on Morrowseer's orders. He was also a big wings to all the dragonets.

Kestrel
Tsunami
Although Glory was never afraid of Kestrel, she held a grudge against the SkyWing when she was alive for abusing her for her childhood; she refused to help save Kestrel in The Dragonet Prophecy.
Glory and Tsunami were often in disagreement and could not hold a conversation for long without arguing.THK Glory tolerated Tsunami and was not bothered by her bossiness at all; she just felt that someone needed to talk back whenever Tsunami acted like the boss of everyone. However, she can acknowledge Tsunami's growth of character since they left the Kingdom of the Sea.THK Although Glory can become irritated by Tsunami's prideful nature and they argue quite a bit, she loves her anyway. She knows that she can always depend on Tsunami to protect and defend her by fighting, even when fighting might be a bit inappropriate, and can often share a laugh with her friend. An example of this was in The Brightest Night where they shared their exasperation over Blaze's shallow nature, or when they were making fun of NightWings in The Hidden Kingdom. Although the two disagree on many different things, Glory finds that she can relate to Tsunami some of the time as well. She admires Tsunami's courage, but Glory herself is more of a strategic thinker whilst Tsunami usually behaves rashly and without thought. In The Hidden Kingdom, Glory was worried about the cut that Deathbringer had caused in Tsunami's wing. No matter how angry Tsunami becomes at Glory, she would never want anything bad to happen to her. Glory would kill to protect Tsunami,TLH but when she came to rescue Clay, Glory commented that she was sure that Tsunami would not have come.TLH She was later gently teasing towards Tsunami and reached over to nose her shoulder playfully.TLH When Queen Scarlet held up Glory's severed head, Tsunami let out a roar that "should have flattened the mountains and ripped holes in the sky," before chasing after Scarlet.EP

Dune
Turtle
Dune was gentler than Kestrel, but Glory did not have any special bond with him either; it is mentioned that she once wished she was an animus so that she could have enchanted Dune's dinner to eat him.
Glory first met Turtle when he confronted her about Darkstalker and she appeared to be a little suspicious of the SeaWing, but seemed trusting of him for the most part. This horrified Turtle and he accidentally lost control of his enchanted coral, baffling Glory. She seems to find him a little odd and weird.

Webs
Webs
Even though Webs never hurt Glory, she still hated him for stealing her egg and taking away the normal life she could have had. She doesn't want to kill him, but she still thinks of him as a coward and a thief.
Glory has a particular dislike for Webs since he brought her to the cave and was ready to allow her to die. After hearing of Webs' wife's fate, however, even she felt sorry for him.TLH When they were wandering around the rainforest, Glory was annoyed about how slow Webs was. She does not completely hate him, though; she likes him better than Kestrel and presumably Dune. Glory was happy with the idea of Webs becoming the history teacher at Jade Mountain, so he could be removed from the rainforest.TBNe

Tsunami
Family tree
Glory doesn't actually mind Tsunami's bossiness, but she still talks back because she thinks at least someone should stand up to Tsunami to combat her prideful nature. She is always snapping at Tsunami, even when Tsunami clearly isn't in the mood to quarrel. The two squabble occasionally, and are extreme opposites: while Glory waits for the perfect time to strike, Tsunami just rushes into situations and attacks.
Royal RainWing Family Tree

Sunny
In The Hidden Kingdom, Glory decided Sunny was better to touch than Webs, even though she isn't comfortable touching other dragons. Glory was also extremely worried, although she was probably the least worried out of all of Sunny's friends, when Sunny went missing in The Brightest Night and held her talons in hers when she was found. Sunny helped break up arguments between Tsunami and Glory by always making it seem like she was on their sides. As with Clay and the others, Glory feels a strong connection with Sunny.

Starflight
Glory is often annoyed by his know-it-all personality and rambling. She apparently knew about his crush on Sunny, and thought he should do something about it. She also shows affection to him at rare occasions. She respects his plans, as she followed his idea of diplomacy in The Dark Secret.

Deathbringer
When Glory first met Deathbringer, she was disguised as an IceWing, trying to probe information out of him. Given her personality, Deathbringer gave her more information than intended about his mission and then began to flirt with her. Glory was sarcastic with him, but he liked her even more because of it and helped her escape the NightWing island. The current status between the two is a bit 'more than friends'. In The Dark Secret, Deathbringer described her as beautiful, sarcastic, and fascinating. When Glory is helping him out of the prison, they hold each other's talons and Starflight thinks, "They exchanged a look that said 'thank you' and a whole lot more." Adding to that, in The Brightest Night, Glory and Deathbringer are constantly flirting with each other, and Deathbringer even put his wing around Glory, which she allowed. In Winter Turning, Deathbringer is constantly trying to protect Glory and muttering to the queen when she says she doesn't need help. In Escaping Peril, Sunny says "Glory has magical death spit and Deathbringer and a whole army of RainWings who would die for her."

Prince Jambu
Glory didn't know that she had a brother (half brother), until she met him in the Rainforest Kingdom. Glory was unimpressed with him at first, and thought of him just as ridiculous as the other RainWings. However, Jambu helped her get Blaze to meet the dragonets and nearly beat Exquisite in the tree-gliding competition, one of the five contests that decided who would be queen of the RainWings. He was only stopped by a vine, possibly a bunch of sloths, that wrapped around his neck, and he nearly strangled himself. He appears to be one of her most trusted dragons now, even if he is incompetent. He also makes sure Glory takes her suntime.

Kinkajou
Quotes
The little dragonet met Glory when she was captured by the NightWings. She followed Glory in escaping, and claims that she'd follow Glory anywhere, even when Glory threatens to take the throne by force. She did the venom targeting part of the contest to become queen and was injured by RainWing venom. She is later shown in a dream to see Glory as a big, beautiful queen, crowned and welcoming Kinkajou with open wings, while the other dragons stared at her enviously. Kinkajou sees herself as one of Glory's best friends.

Tamarin
Trivia
Glory didn't really know Tamarin that well, other than the fact that she was blind. Tamarin seemed confident in front of Glory when she said that maybe she couldn't do the flower challenge, with Kinkajou later stating that Tamarin had the best nose in the whole kingdom. She also felt compassionate about getting Tamarin a better teacher in Jade Mountain Academy.
* Glory initiates a prickly instinctive "shield" around her mind, making it unreadable, and limits her color-changing scales to hide her emotions when uncomfortable.MR

* Tui had originally planned to make Clay have a crush on Glory, but it did not work out.
Turtle
* Glory does not like touching other dragons.THK
Glory first met Turtle when he confronted her about Darkstalker, and she seemed to be a little suspicious of the latter but seemed to trust him for the most part. This horrified Turtle and he accidentally lost control of his enchanted coral, baffling Glory. She seems to find him a little odd and weird.
* Glory's head was an available item on Roblox as part of a promotional event in 2016. While the item is still viewable and can be worn on one's avatar if they own it, it is no longer obtainable.

* Glory hates the dark.TLH
Trivia
* Glory is skilled at memorizing maps.TLH
* It has been revealed that Glory is in fact afraid of the dark.
* Glory is extremely fond of guavas.THK
* Some of the books state that Glory has an extreme distaste of being touched.
* As a dragonet, Glory wished she had animus magic so she could enchant Dune's dinner to eat him.THK
* Glory once had the desire to be an animus as a young dragonet so that she could enchant Dune's food to eat him, but changed her opinion when she knew the price of using animus magic.
* Glory hates rainy weather.THK
* She has a pet sloth named Silver, one of the few dragons mentioned to own a pet. Some of the others are Smolder, Winter (for a short period of time), and quite a few other RainWings.
* She is one of two PoVs to have a pet during her book, the other being Winter.
* On the cover of The Hidden Kingdom, Glory does not have a strip of wing membrane that the RainWings should have. The spikes going down her back don't go to the tip of her tail either, as shown in the guide.
* Glory is descended from the original line of RainWing queens, as she did a successful venom test with Grandeur in The Hidden Kingdom.
* She is the first character in the series shown to challenge a queen for the throne.
* In Moon Rising, Glory is found to throw up an instinctive "shield" around her mind when uncomfortable, doing the same with her scales, to hide her emotions.
* Glory is the first of the two known queen who rules two tribes (the RainWings and NightWings), the other being Queen Wasp, who rules the HiveWings and SilkWings.
** Although, Queen Wasp is chronologically the first two tribe queen, as she gained power over the SilkWings fifty years ago, during the Tree Wars, while Glory gained the NightWing throne one year ago, during the War of SandWing Succession.
* It was revealed in a live video chat with Tui T. Sutherland that Glory and Deathbringer are dating, making the popular ship Glorybringer canon.
* Glory's grouchiness appears to have come from her lack of suntime during her time under the mountain.
* Glory mentions in The Hidden Kingdom that Scarlet fed her pineapples during her entrapment.
* Tui was originally going to have Clay have a crush on Glory, then decided it would not work.
* She is the third known queen to ascend to the throne without killing the previous queen, the others being Queen Pearl and Queen Snowfall.
* Glory might have been named after the flower morning glory.
* Glory's head was an available item on Roblox as part of a promotional event. While the item is still viewable, it is no longer able to be obtained. It can be found here.
* Glory was the second of three of the Dragonets of Destiny to realize she is a princess ( before she became queen ) the first being Princess Tsunami and the third being Princess Sunny

"Queen Glory of the RainWings. That'll be my name in the history scrolls — not Glory the mistake, or Glory the lazy RainWing, or Glory who could never be as good as some nameless SkyWing who died six years ago. I'm responsible for all these dragons now. I'll protect them. I'll lead them. I'll make them — us — a tribe we can be proud of. Glory, the queen who chose her own destiny, saved her subjects, and turned her tribe into the greatest dragons in all of Pyrrhia."
— Glory's thoughts about being queen, The Hidden Kingdom

Glory is an adult female RainWing and the main protagonist of The Hidden Kingdom. Formerly a dragonet of destiny, she was also partially responsible for the end of the War of SandWing Succession and the founding of Jade Mountain Academy.

After the events of the NightWing Exodus, Glory became queen of both the NightWing and RainWing tribes. She resides in the RainWing village and is currently in a relationship with Deathbringer.

Description

Glory has green eyes[1] and brilliant,[2] color-changing scales. According to Liana, these scales are dull and mousy in comparison to those of other RainWings.[3] She has soft wings,[4] feathery ears,[5] a long body,[4] tail,[5] and neck,[6] and a long, delicate snout.[7] She is often considered very beautiful[8] and elegant.[9]

Unlike most RainWings, Glory tries to keep her scales from showing emotions.[10] Therefore, she is usually seen with dark[11] emerald[12] green scales[13] and flares of orange around her ears and the underside of her wings.[11]

Personality

Glory is often depicted as teasing, sarcastic,[14] cross,[15] snide,[16] intelligent, fierce,[17] firm,[18] sniping,[19] and arch.[20] When Moonwatcher suggested that Glory return to the RainWing village for her safety while they searched for Icicle, she snorted as though she was sure she could handle anything.[21] She has a steely ferocity about her,[22] and Deathbringer describes her as reckless.[23] She is thoughtful[24] and fair.[25] Queen Glacier stated that she was an unusual queen for choosing a path toward peace and cooperation over clear and simple vengeance.[26] Although she did not seem to be bothered by the memory of using her venom to attack Scarlet,[27] she is unwilling to use her venom on dragons who are unable to fight back.[28] She often refuses to take orders from anyone,[29] and Tsunami once regarded her to be the least trustworthy and most dangerous out of the dragonets of destiny.[30] She speaks for herself,[31] and the RainWing color for happiness does not often appear on her scales.[15]

Upon meeting Winter, she beckoned him to walk beside her as an equal and greeted him as visiting royalty.[32] According to Qibli, she is well-known for being a fair and kind queen[33] and took her responsibilities as ruler of the NightWings seriously, being unwilling to release Icicle to Glacier's custody without confirmation that the IceWing princess would be punished for her murder of a NightWing guard. It is hard to figure out what she truly wants,[30] but Moonwatcher stated that she would not want enchanted obedience or fake love from her NightWing subjects.[34] She used to believe she could do everything by herself, but that changed after the RainWing royal challenge.[35]

Biography

The Dragonet Prophecy

The Dragonet Prophecy

After Burn smashed the original SkyWing egg intended for The Dragonet Prophecy and killed its carrier, Hvitur, Webs stole Glory's egg from the Rainforest Kingdom as a last-minute replacement, insisting that they had to have five dragonets for the prophecy. He had gotten in trouble with Kestrel because it was not a SkyWing egg and they supposedly could never complete The Dragonet Prophecy with a RainWing.

When Fjord was moments away from killing Clay in the arena, Tsunami attempted to jump off of her prison tower, unintentionally distracting everyone while Glory sprayed lethal venom on Fjord's neck and face, killing him in seconds.

Later, as Clay was fighting Peril in honor of the Champion's Shield, Glory shot her venom at the right side of Scarlet's face, causing the spectators to flee and giving Peril ample time to free the dragonets and aid them in escaping the palace.

Glory was also present when Starflight dropped in during Clay's speech about finding their lost friend. She then accompanied the others on the way to the Kingdom of the Sea in hopes of meeting Tsunami's family.
The Lost Heir

While discussing what to do next, Glory and the others saw a SkyWing air patrol scouting the area, probably looking for the dragonets themselves.

After they escaped, the group decided to travel to the Rainforest Kingdom in an attempt to help Webs and find Glory's family.
The Hidden Kingdom

Glory was first shown flying through the rain with her friends.

Sunny showed Magnificent Webs' injury. The queen gave them directions to the healers' treehouse but seemed uninterested when Glory suggested gathering information about the missing RainWings. Unwilling to do the job herself, she appointed Glory as an investigator.

Glory, Clay, and Starflight went to see Mangrove while Sunny and Tsunami took Webs to the healer's hut. They found and asked Mangrove for details on Orchid's disappearance.

Around midnight, they heard loud stamping, sniffing, and snorting. Something moved near the pond and proceeded to eat something, then slithered back into the hole. When the sun rose, all that was left of the dying sloth were a few scraps of fur and blood-spattered leaves.

Glory discovered that the NighWings had been capturing the RainWings and brought them to their secret home, the NightWing island.

The second guard fled, but the third retaliated when Glory tried to spray venom at him, pinning Glory to the floor. Kinkajou sprayed venom between his wings, causing him to release Glory, and then shoved him into a ravine. Glory realized that she would never get her bonds off before the second guard raised an alarm, so she ordered the first guard to carry them across the lava river.

The NightWing only responded with a groan, but Clay and Deathbringer showed up just in time for their rescue. However, Deathbringer circled back to join his tribe when they neared the tunnel, as he did not want to be punished for helping them. After Glory, Clay, and Kinkajou fought with the NightWing guards stationed at the tunnel, they fled into the rainforest, where Glory spoke with Queen Magnificent about what she had seen. When the queen did not seem to care and refused to save them, Glory challenged Magnificent for the RainWing throne, as she knew that she could not save the prisoners without an army. Instead of a battle to the death to become queen, the RainWings had devised a series of challenges that included things such as camouflage, flower hunting, venom-shooting contests, tree gliding, and fruit gathering.

By the final venom-shooting contest, Glory and Magnificent's teams were tied. Kinkajou, competing against Grandeur, was losing by the end of the tie-breaking match, but a sloth tumbled out of the trees in front of the target board right after Grandeur had spat her venom. Kinkajou jumped up and pushed the sloth out of the way, but Grandeur spat her venom and hit Kinkajou's wing. Frantic, Glory tried her venom to counteract Grandeur's, and the melting stopped as their venom met. Grandeur forfeit the contest when she realized that Glory was descended from the original RainWing royal family, knowing that Glory would be a better queen than any of the current ones. Glory was officially crowned the queen of the RainWings, but Clay suddenly appeared with news of Starflight's disappearance, as well as a guess that he had gone to warn his tribe about Glory's plan.
The Dark Secret

In the time that Starflight was trapped on the NightWings' volcano, he found a dreamvisitor, which he used to contact Glory in a dream to warn her that the NightWings were planning something. When Starflight, (along with Fatespeaker and Flame), returned to their friend's overjoyed welcome, they discussed the plan to infiltrate the NightWings' home and rescue the captured RainWings. Glory was worried, however, that most of her tribe would not be able to use their venom on another dragon, even if it meant life or death.

While Glory and Starflight were searching for the NightWing ruler, Battlewinner, they found her daughter, Greatness, snooping around the fortress. Glory ordered Greatness to lead them to her mother, along with the threat of venom if she refused. The princess led them down a small tunnel that led to Battlewinner's throne room, which was empty except for a huge black pot of lava in the center. When Battlewinner emerged, Starflight told her that she was never going to make it to the rainforest alive and that she should give the NightWing tribe to Glory so that they would not share the same fate.

Battlewinner, seething, refused and flung herself at Glory — but it was no use, as the ice was taking over her body in the absence of the lava. After the former NightWing queen froze to death, the ground started to shake and rumble. Glory and Starflight hastily ran to the NightWing dungeons, where they freed Deathbringer and Splendor with a set of keys found in a coal niche. As they exited the fortress, Starflight told the gathered NightWings that accepting Glory's rule was the only way to live, unless they wanted to fly over the ocean. Tsunami, stationed at the tunnel, required each NightWing to pledge their allegiance to Glory before she allowed them to pass.

As the last few remaining NightWings fled into the tunnel, Morrowseer threatened them, and the volcano exploded. Clay tried to shield Starflight with his fireproof scales, but he was not fast enough, as the lava had permanently blinded Starflight's eyes.
The Brightest Night

When Sunny was kidnapped by three traitorous NightWings – Preyhunter, Strongwings, and Fierceteeth – Glory was in a panic, sending out several search parties to find her. When Sunny returned, she explained her capture and how she had finally met her mother, Thorn. Glory was angry but relieved, but she was excited most of all by Sunny's plan for stopping the war. They would find Blister through the Talons of Peace, Sunny would dreamvisit Moorhen to get a message to Burn, and Sunny would also dreamvisit Blaze. There was a short discussion about who should dreamvisit Blaze, and all the dragonets except Tsunami voted for Sunny.

At the meeting, Blister gave Burn a box with two dragonbite vipers inside. Burn trapped one under her talons, but the other bit her other foot, killing her, and raced toward the dragonets. While Sunny and Fatespeaker tried to get Starflight off the ground, Clay slammed into them to save Starflight; however, he received a bad wound on his thigh. Glory helped to hold Clay down while Peril burned out the poison in his leg. She also helped to dig up Oasis's grave to get the Eye of Onyx and the other lost SandWing treasure. The Eye of Onyx was Blister's demise and the start of Thorn's reign, effectively making Sunny the new heir to the throne and ending the War of SandWing Succession once and for all.

One month after the war was over, the dragonets, Fatespeaker, and Deathbringer went to Jade Mountain to discuss who would attend their new school to help teach the tribes of Pyrrhia to live in peace with each other. Glory, now the queen of two tribes, had to remain in the rainforest but she promised her friends she would come visit them.

The Jade Mountain Prophecy

Moon Rising
Glory was mentioned by Moon's mother, Secretkeeper, as being somewhat unfit for a ruler due to her young and inexperienced age. She was also mentioned by Kinkajou multiple times when she said she was friends with a queen.
Winter Turning

Glory is first mentioned when Winter remembers how Scarlet asked for the dragonets of destiny's lives in return for Hailstorm's. Winter then thinks to himself that Glory had been one of the dragons who had confirmed that the NightWings had no more powers.

Glory formally appeared when Winter was tackled by Deathbringer in the NightWing village. As she hauled the NightWing assassin off of the young prince, Winter explained that his sister Icicle was coming to kill Glory on Scarlet's orders. Glory summoned a meeting at the Royal Pavilion, calling a few scouts to report if they had seen anything suspicious. One RainWing mentioned a patch of ice near the Bayan Tree after Moon suggested signs; Glory and Winter prepared to leave, along with Moon and Qibli. Near the tree, there was an unnaturally shaped mound of dirt, which contained a bloodied and frozen NightWing. As Glory realized that Icicle was nearby, she sent the four dragonets to the RainWing Wingery for their safety.

While the dragonets escaped from the Wingery, Kinkajou left a trail for Glory to follow. As Kinkajou and Icicle were fighting in the abandoned Night Kingdom, Glory tranquilized the IceWing with eight other dragons (seven RainWings and Deathbringer) and took her back to the RainWing village, announcing her arrest. As Winter was arguing with Qibli when the SandWing offered to help save Winter's brother, Hailstorm, Glory told Winter that she felt the same way that he did then: that she could have done everything by herself and did not need anyone else, but that he would appreciate his friends' help later on. She reluctantly permitted the group to leave, strictly ordering Moon and Kinkajou not to die, calling them "two of my favorite subjects."
Escaping Peril
When Queen Scarlet shouted vengeance at Ruby and her soldiers at Jade Mountain Academy's entrance, she also hurled a decapitated head at the watching dragons. Sunny and Clay recognized it as Glory's. Tsunami was furious and went to find Queen Scarlet. She later came to the Talons of Peace for help. However, as Turtle pulled out a curled scrap of paper from the dragon's ear canal, the head began to shift and grow until it resembled a female MudWing. Turtle guessed that an animus dragon had enchanted the paper to make the dragon appear exactly as Glory, as the paper contained a written enchantment. Later in the book, it is mentioned that Sunny dream visited Glory and Tsunami.
Talons of Power
When Darkstalker visited the Rainforest Kingdom, he challenged Glory for kingship over the NightWing tribe. Instead of the usual fight-to-the-death challenge, Glory decided to let each NightWing decide for themselves which dragon they wanted as their ruler. This easy agreement only added to Turtle's nervousness, as he guessed that Darkstalker's spells were clouding Glory and Deathbringer's greater judgment. After a while, Darkstalker began handing out magic powers to some NightWings, and Turtle went to tell Glory, thinking that she would want to know. After finding her and telling her, he asked about Kinkajou, and Glory told him she was in the healer's hut and gave directions. Later that night, Darkstalker had a vision of five dragons coming to kill the RainWing queen; after he captured four of them and sent the fifth away as a messenger to Vulture, he created a giant iron prison using a branch. Glory appeared uneasy as the building made its home in her rainforest, but she did not argue with Darkstalker.
Darkness of Dragons
Glory was mentioned by Sunny, as she was dreamvisiting her, and also by Qibli, who said that some NightWings would hate her forever simply because she was a RainWing.

The Lost Continent Prophecy

The Hive Queen
Glory was indirectly mentioned by Tsunami in the prologue when Tsunami said she and her friends had solved plenty of problems without animus magic.
The Dangerous Gift
Glory was mentioned by Snowfall as one of the queens who wanted to build more relationships between their tribes and hers. She later appeared at the queen summit and suggested that she send a surplus of poison darts, which Cricket showed interest in. She then decided to send Moonwatcher and Pineapple as the NightWing and RainWing representatives to go to Pantala.
The Flames of Hope

When Luna was describing Freedom's appearance, she noted that the shape of Freedom's eyes reminded her of Glory.

Legends

Dragonslayer

Glory was the green dragon seen playing with the other dragonets of destiny in the cave looked in upon by Wren and Sky. Though unnamed, when Kestrel came into the cave roaring at them, she slid into a nook in the wall.

Glory was also the reason the mountain dragon's fighting arena got disrupted, causing the audience to scatter after she shot venom at Burn's face; hitting Scarlet instead when Burn used her as a shield.

Winglets

Prisoners
In Fierceteeth's messages to Saguaro, Glory was mentioned several times when Fierceteeth wrote about how much she wanted to dethrone and kill her. She was also indirectly mentioned when Fierceteeth talked about how much she wanted the dragonets dead.

Field Guides

A Guide to the Dragon World

Glory's commentary was seen in the guide's opening letter.

In the SkyWing chapter, Glory was mentioned on a list of dragons that Scarlet wanted to kill. Her thoughts on her inclusion in the note were seen in the margins of the page.

Relationships

Since hatching, Glory has shared a strong bond with Clay. It was mentioned that he had often given Glory pretty things to cheer her up, and he was willing to risk his life to save her own in The Dragonet Prophecy. Glory trusts Clay completely and thinks of him as honest and kind. Clay is also quick to try and resolve conflicts between Glory and the others, and he is always ready to forgive Glory whenever she has been unfair. Glory was overjoyed when Clay came to rescue her from the NightWing Island. Glory would kill to protect him.[30] Clay was devastated when he believed that Glory was dead.[36] Glory did not want Clay to risk his life in the river and instead suggested that she could camouflage herself instead.[37]

Glory mentioned that she viewed Deathbringer's attempted arrest of Winter as annoying instead of romantic or heroic,[11] but she also spoke to him in a low, surprisingly affectionate voice that made Winter rethink everything he had assumed about the queen and her overenthusiastic[38] bodyguard. Deathbringer once stated that he was half a dragon before he met Glory, and would be even less if he lost her.[23] Deathbringer likes her for her personality and how when he suggests something, she shoots him down, which he finds amusing.

She considers him a dragon she knows she can count on, as she asked him to come with her to Sanctuary for a queen's summit.[9]

Though Glory did not initially think much of the dragonet, she had respect for Kinkajou after learning how Kinkajou had been able to visit the other RainWings.[39] She aided Glory in escaping and claims that she would follow her anywhere, even when Glory threatened to take the throne by force. She chose Tamarin for the RainWing royal challenge partially because the dragonet was friends with Kinkajou.[40] She participated in the venom targeting part of the RainWing royal challenge on Glory's behalf and was injured by Grandeur's venom.

Glory seems to have a good relationship with Mangrove, due to her interest in finding the missing RainWings. He was especially thankful when Orchid was successfully rescued. Glory also appears to trust him, as she appointed him – along with Grandeur – to run the kingdom while she attended the summit.

Glory is on neutral terms with Peril. However, Glory sometimes shows dislike for Peril, specifically when Clay suggested that Peril could be the "Wings of Sky." Peril describes Glory as "far from her favorite fan." Glory calls Sunny brave for talking Peril into saving Thorn, which the RainWing admits would have made her nervous.[41] However, Glory is very grateful that Peril saved Clay's life at the SandWing stronghold when a dragonbite viper bit him.

Silver is Glory's pet sloth and the two seem quite close. Silver reminded her of Sunny in a way.[42] Initially she did not think much of the sloth and even suggested that she may eat the sloth.[43] However, she was willing to stop Tsunami from attempting to kill Silver.[44] She had slowly taken a liking for Silver, though she did not want to show her affection for the sloth in front of her friends.[45] Glory grew angry for Silver's sake after Magnificent scared her to win her round of the contest.[46]

Although Glory is often annoyed by Starflight's know-it-all personality and rambling, she still appears to love him like a brother or friend and would kill to protect him.[30] She knew about his crush on Sunny and thought he should do something about it.[47] She also shows affection to him on rare occasions. She respects his plans, as she followed his idea of diplomacy in The Dark Secret, and trusts his intelligence.[48]

She would kill to protect her,[30] and Sunny views Glory as indestructible and amazing.[49] When Sunny thought Glory might be dead, she broke down, covering her face with her talons and curling into a ball with her wings over her head.[50]

She also felt compassionate about getting Tamarin a better teacher at Jade Mountain Academy.[51]

Glory and Tsunami were often in disagreement and could not hold a conversation for long without arguing.[52] Glory tolerated Tsunami and was not bothered by her bossiness at all; she just felt that someone needed to talk back whenever Tsunami acted like the boss of everyone. However, she can acknowledge Tsunami's growth of character since they left the Kingdom of the Sea.[52] Although Glory can become irritated by Tsunami's prideful nature and they argue quite a bit, she loves her anyway. Glory would kill to protect Tsunami,[30] but when she came to rescue Clay, Glory commented that she was sure that Tsunami would not have come.[53] She was later gently teasing towards Tsunami and reached over to nose her shoulder playfully.[14] When Queen Scarlet held up Glory's severed head, Tsunami let out a roar that "should have flattened the mountains and ripped holes in the sky," before chasing after Scarlet.[54]

Glory has a particular dislike for Webs since he brought her to the cave and was ready to allow her to die. After hearing of Webs' wife's fate, however, even she felt sorry for him.[55] When they were wandering around the rainforest, Glory was annoyed about how slow Webs was. She does not completely hate him, though; she likes him better than Kestrel and presumably Dune. Glory was happy with the idea of Webs becoming the history teacher at Jade Mountain, so he could be removed from the rainforest.[51]

Quotes

"Because Burn is bigger and scarier and could crush her like a bug if they actually fought claw to claw, [...] And Blister — that's me — is smarter than both of them put together. She knew she couldn't kill Burn in a regular duel. It was her idea to involve all the tribes and turn their SandWing throne battle into a world war. She's probably waiting for the other two to kill each other."
― explaining why Blaze isn't queen when the SandWings like her (The Dragonet Prophecy, page 22)

"I don't. [...] She was going to kill me. Remember?"
― to Sunny about rescuing Kestrel (The Dragonet Prophecy, page 241)

"That's what it was! [...] When we hatched — the guardians didn't know anything about MudWings, so they thought you were attacking us. But you were trying to help. Your instinct told you to get the rest of us out of our shells. Clay, you know what this means? You weren't trying to kill us at all."
― to Clay (The Dragonet Prophecy, page 291)

"What am I going to do? [...] Round up some scary RainWings to sleep on your roof? I thought no one was afraid of my tribe."
― to Riptide (The Lost Heir, page 33)

"We are NOT CALLING IT MAGICAL DEATH SPIT."
― to Sunny, in the SeaWing prison (The Lost Heir, page 259)

"But I didn't love it. [...] It was just new and different. A new, different way to be a prisoner and have my life chosen for me. I'm more than a lump of treasure. I guess Scarlet found that out the hard way."
― thinking about her imprisonment in the Sky Kingdom (The Hidden Kingdom, page 16)

"This. [...] I could have slept in the sun like this every day of my life. Forget the stupid prophecy. This is the destiny I was supposed to have."
― Glory, when she has her first sun time (The Hidden Kingdom, page 34)

"All right, sure. I'm not in the Great Magnificent Wondrous Dragonet Prophecy. Maybe no one would ever write a prophecy about a RainWing. Maybe no dragon in Pyrrhia expects any of us to have an important destiny or do anything worthwhile. But this? Sleeping all day in a patch of sun? Is that all I'm good for — all any RainWing is good for? There must be more to us than this. There must be more to me."
― thinking (The Hidden Kingdom, page 35)

"Except for mine. [...] Which was stolen, and nobody noticed. That's what you're telling me. You had no idea my egg was missing at all."
― Glory, about her egg (The Hidden Kingdom, page 41)

"Because I wasn't just an egg 'rolling in' and out of your nest. [...] There was a real live dragon there. A dragonet who had to grow up for six years with no family, no rainforest, and no sun."
― Glory, speaking to Jambu about her egg and her life (The Hidden Kingdom, page 41)

"Yeah. [...] It would make more sense if they'd chain you all up in a cave and starve you and ignore you for a day or two and then throw you in prison after you save one of their princesses. Oh, no, wait, that's what your mom did."
― to Tsunami, after she complains about having to wait to see the RainWing queen (The Hidden Kingdom, page 56)

"I don't believe in prophecies. Sorry, I know they're a NightWing specialty, but seriously? If you can actually see the future, why be all cryptic and vague about it? Why not give us a prophecy that's like, 'Oh, by the way, Blaze is going to win the war, so give her the crown now and don't even bother fighting about it.' Skip all the death and bloodshed. And leave a bunch of poor dragonets out of it."
― to Deathbringer (The Hidden Kingdom, page 117)

"I don't think it's enough to just be happy. I think you have to care about something, too. Like other dragons who need you, for instance. And you still have to be ready to fight, just in case some creepy 'less evolved' dragons decide to invade your territory and kidnap a bunch of you."
― to Sunny and Starflight (The Hidden Kingdom, page 234)

"Wow. I'm a queen. Queen Glory of the RainWings. That'll be my name in the history scrolls — not Glory the mistake, or Glory the lazy RainWing, or Glory who could never be as good as some nameless SkyWing who died six years ago. I'm responsible for all these dragons now. We can rescue the missing RainWings and make sure no more dragonets ever get lost again. Starflight can help me teach them all how to read and write. I'll protect them. I'll lead them. I'll make them — us — a tribe we can be proud of. Glory, the queen who chose her own destiny, saved her subjects and turned her tribe into the greatest dragons in all of Pyrrhia."
― thinking after winning the royal challenge (The Hidden Kingdom, page 290)

"Listen to me. Your friends are suffering. They're tortured and trapped in caves in a horrible place that smells of smoke and death. There's no fruit. There's no sun time. [...] This could have happened — could still happen — to any of you. If you won't go rescue them, who will? They'll be lost there forever. [...] I know you'd rather sleep than deal with problems, but these dragons are from your tribe, and they need you. [...] That's why I'm going to take the throne tomorrow. It's not because I want the biggest pieces of fruit or the highest sun platform. I'm doing this for the missing RainWings — and for you, so that you don't have to spend the rest of your lives looking over your shoulders and thinking, Our friends are still lost . . . and we could have saved them."
― to Bromeliad and a group of RainWings (The Hidden Kingdom, page 227)

"It's normal to be scared. [...] I'm scared. You'd have to be crazy not to be — well, crazy or Tsunami, which is basically the same thing. You just have to push that aside and do what you have to anyway."
― to Starflight (The Dark Secret, page 238)

"You know I don't like giving speeches. [...] so I'll just say this. We're going to save our fellow RainWings, and we're going to make this rainforest safe, and we're going to do it like real RainWings. And by the three moons, try not to talk or sneeze or fall asleep in the tunnel on the way there, all right?"
― to the RainWings, about invading the NightWing island (The Dark Secret, page 241)

"Don't call for help. [...] I'm not an ordinary RainWing. My venom is aimed at your eyes right now and I am not afraid to use it."
― to Greatness (The Dark Secret, page 254)

"We're taking our prisoners back. [...] You will never set foot in the rainforest again. You will leave the RainWings alone forever. We'll destroy the tunnel between our kingdoms, you'll call off the invasion, and we'll never even sniff another NightWing near our village for the next twelve generations."
― to Queen Battlewinner (The Dark Secret, page 258)

"Are you serious? [...] The whole thing was made up? There's no destiny, no wings of fire? No reason for us to be trapped in a cave our whole lives? No amazing mythical SkyWing who's infinitely better than me? Absolutely no need for any of us at all?"
― to the dragonets (The Brightest Night, page 18)

"Then why do the IceWings support her? [...] Don't they want a strong queen? No, of course they don't. [...] The one kingdom they share a border with — wouldn't it be great if it happened to be ruled by a vain, silly dragon who was totally in debt to them and did everything their queen ordered. Maddening for us, but sensible for them. Queen Glacier knows what's she's doing. Unless she loses — like if Blaze happened to die somehow — in which case she'd have to deal with Burn right on her border, all enraged and looking for vengeance. All right, yes, I can see why she'd keep her safely locked up. Three moons."
― to the dragonets of destiny (The Brightest Night, page 255)

"Good news: Four of your students have gone off to find a dragon who just tried to kill you, in order to find another dragon who has tried to kill you about ninety dozen times. Oh excellent, thanks, Turtle. Now we don't have to worry at all. I mean, we were hoping somebody would take care of the vengeful and deadly Queen Scarlet for us. Preferably a bunch of five-year-olds. Very reassuring indeed."
― to Kinkajou (Winter Turning, page 52)

"Listen. [...] I used to think I could do everything by myself, too. I didn't want help from anyone. But I wouldn't be here now if it weren't for my friends, and I have a feeling you'll be saying the same thing a year from now."
― to Winter (Winter Turning, page 128-129)

"I think that is your superpower. [...] Extreme heroic idiocy. [...] Well, if that means all the NightWings decide to go with Darkstalker, I suppose my job around here will get a lot easier."
― to Deathbringer (Talons of Power, page 144)
