After [[Qibli]] arrived with the rest of the [[Jade Winglet]] and [[Princess Anemone]] reviling that [[Winter|Prince Winter ]]was still alive, said that the Nightwing army was coming to attack. Queen Snowfall refused to leave saying that the Icewing army was ready. Then 3 Nightwings appeared attacked Snowfall. Prince Narwhal defended his niece, killing one of the Nightwings but dying in the process. [[Prince Hailstorm]] and Winter attacked the other 2 Nightwings out of vengeance, and soon [[Clay]] and Qibli joined in but then 3 more Nightwings appeared, also trying to kill the Icewing queen. Snowfall fought back, and soon it was "a mess of frostbreath, fire and scales" Moon tried to pull her tribe back but they wouldn't listen to her, one of them calling her a traitor, saying she should be fighting along with them. After Clay got hurt Peril joined the fight, saying that they should talk it out, then leading Clay back into the mountain for his injures to be treated.

Upon claiming the NightWing throne, [[Darkstalker (L1)|Darkstalker]] took the NightWing army to attack the IceWings. The IceWings came to [[Jade Mountain]] to demand answers to where Darkstalker and his NightWings were. The teachers and [[Peril]] said they did not know where they were, suggesting that the IceWings instead negotiate peace between them and the NightWings. [[Queen Snowfall]] and [[Narwhal]] refused. The NightWings arrived shortly thereafter, and the battle began. The battle ended after [[Anemone]] [[Animus magic|enchanted]] [[Qibli]]'s library card to connect the minds of the NightWings and IceWings for a hundred heartbeats, then teleport them back to their [[Lost city of night|respective]] [[Ice Kingdom|kingdoms]].


Then, Darkstalker and the Nightwing army arrived from the west, in a "cloud that was not a cloud- it was a roaring tide of black scales and flashing claws" Snowfall ordered the Icewing army to attack, and soon the two armies clashed. Hailstorm then asked Winter to fight alongside the Icewings and Winter agreed, soon joining the battle.
Including Narwhal, there were thirteen IceWing deaths during the battle. The number of NightWing casualties is unknown, but there were two captured deaths.{{Ref|TDG|20}}


Then the Jade Winglet discussed ideas to end the battle. Moon offered to talk to Darkstalker to try and change his mind, but Qibli then said that it was to dangerous and that she could die in the process. Then Qibli suggests Anemone should to a telepathic message with her magic, ordering the Nightwings to retreat. It seems to work until Darkstalker says it was a trick and that to continue fighting. The Nightwings obey and the battle resumes. Then Darkstalker smacks 4 Icewings into the mountain causing an avalanche. A huge bolder smacks into [[Turtle]] and Anemone, crushing them. Qibli and Moon freak out and struggle to lift the bolder. When they do, they find both Turtle and Anemone unharmed, Turtle shielding Anemone with his invulnerable scales. Then Qibli uses the weather bracelets to call a storm before realizing that Jade Mountain would fall if he did. He begins to panic, telling Anemone to get rid of it. She agrees, and while she fights the storm, Qibli tells [[Starflight]] and [[Fatespeaker]] to evauate the school, telling them not to worry about him and the others. Starfight responds that would be impossible to do, but agree and begin to get everyone out from the back exit through [[Stonemover]]'s cave.

Moon then says she is having another vision, of a dragon she didn't know picking strawberries. Qibli then says they should leave the mountain if it does fall. Anemone then says that there was no need and that she was winning, and the storm slowly goes away.

Qibli then says that he has another idea, saying Anemone should enchant his library card to connect the minds of the warring dragons for 100 heartbeats, to experience what each side was feeling. Then to teleport the Nightwings to the Great Diamond and the Icewings to the main Icewing palace. When she does, the to sides understand that they are both fighting out of fear, and then teleport to there locations, ending the battle.
