Raven is a female human who was introduced in The Dangerous Gift. She currently resides in the abyss village on Pantala.
Description
Raven has short, straight dark hair and a thin, sharp face. She wears leather wrappings with dark feathers woven into them, and a tiny emerald embedded in the side of her nose.[1]
Personality
Raven is shown to be quite cheerful, curious, and playful, often teasing dragons.[2] She appeared caring and courageous, as she often visits the abyss to bring food to Vole even when approaching the abyss is strictly forbidden.[3]
Biography
The Lost Continent Prophecy
One of Snowfall's visions was in Raven's point of view. Raven was jumping from rock to rock on the cave ceiling, staying hidden from a green dragon (most likely Pokeweed) that had been trying to catch her and Mole. She mocked the dragon for not being able to do so, and Mole peeked out of one of the upper passages, urging her to get in. He admonished her for putting herself into danger while she said that it was funny to provoke the dragons. Raven wondered if the dragons suddenly appearing in the caves was related to the abyss, but Mole shushed her for going against the rules. Persistent, she pointed out that it was behaving strangely, but Mole stayed firm and told her to leave him out of it if she planned on climbing down the pit. After she was left alone, she thought about whatever was going on above ground and that if it was enough to scare dragons, then it could spell the end of the world for humans.
She appeared again in the epilogue, going to the abyss to give Vole some food. It was said that she and Mole were the only ones who dared approach him, as he has tossed other humans into the pit before. Vole asked if she could hear the whispers, and she responded that she could not understand what it was saying. He said that it was growing and it would soon need a dragon. She attempted to ask for details, but he remained vague, telling her to bring "the" dragon to the pit to save the village or everyone she knew would die.
Raven was first seen in the prologue thinking that worshipping the abyss was creepy, and began to ponder Vole's warning about "the dragon" (potentially a LeafWing). She found Mole near one of the caves and they conversed about a possible way to "save" Vole from the abyss.
Later, Raven and Mole were the ones who captured Dusky and used him as bait for Luna to be lead into the abyss. Wren talked to Raven and Mole and asked about the abyss, while Luna stood a distance away and tried to look threatening. Raven and Mole decided to set Dusky free, but Vole appeared right afterwards, taking Dusky into the abyss.
After Luna flew Dusky and Vole out of the abyss, Mole took Vole back to the village while Raven walked with Luna and the stealth team. Luna decided that she would not be angry at Raven for kidnapping Dusky, not after all the horrible things humans and dragons had done to each other over the years.
Relationships
Mole is Raven's best friend and she trusts him to tell him that she has been visiting his brother, Vole. They joke around with each other and they are physically affectionate with one another.
Raven is a friend of Vole. She, along with Mole, are the only two people who go to the abyss to see him and bring him food. While Vole was the Guardian, she knew that Vole was no longer himself, but she still would break the rules go talk to him. She knew it was stupid, but could not help it.
