Rattlesnake is a female SandWing who was introduced in Darkness of Dragons. She is a member of the Talons of Power, and her last known whereabouts were in the Scorpion Den.
Description
Rattlesnake is hulking,[1] muscular,[2] large,[3] and burly.[4] She wears a black hood and a golden medallion etched with the image of a vulture,[5] and she has five dragon skull tattoos trailing from her head like a long, morbid earring.[6] Either she or Sirocco looks a lot like Qibli,[7] and she has a menacing tail. She is larger than Sirocco.[4]
Personality
Rattlesnake is often cruel, malevolently delighted, and speaks in a menacing singsong. She enjoys violence,[6] is menacing,[8] and is often prone to yelling and snapping at other dragons.[4]
Biography
The Dragonet Prophecy
When Sunny asked whether Thorn was Qibli's family, he said Thorn saved him from his original family, indirectly mentioning Rattlesnake.
The Jade Mountain Prophecy
Moon had a vision about Qibli fighting Rattlesnake and Sirocco, with Vulture glowering at him as well. Qibli was shouting, "Where is she?," referring to Cobra, at the sneering faces of his siblings.
Qibli mentioned that he had a sinister older sister, just as Winter had Icicle.
Rattlesnake, alongside Sirocco, was one of the dragons who Turtle thought looked like Qibli. She was arguing with a SkyWing over dragonflame cacti prices while Turtle and Peril were in Possibility.
Rattlesnake was indirectly mentioned when Qibli said that he had siblings who liked to pick on him.
Later, a group of dragons, which had most likely included Rattlesnake and Sirocco, terrified some SandWings by setting off some dragonflame cacti.
Rattlesnake was one of the dragons who apprehended Winter and Qibli at her old home. Later, Cobra attempted to kill Rattlesnake and Sirocco, saying that Qibli was her only dragonet, which was an act to gain his trust. Qibli stopped her from killing his siblings, and Winter knocked Rattlesnake unconscious, leaving her and Sirocco bound and gagged in the compound.
Relationships
Cobra did not pay much attention to Rattlesnake, and did not care much what she did. She often spoke harshly towards her.[9]
Alongside Sirocco, Rattlesnake threw Qibli into walls, trapped his tail in doors, stole his prey, or buried him in sand.[9]
Rattlesnake views Sirocco as an embarrassment, and resents him because she believes he makes her look stupid in front of Vulture.[8]
