Prickle is an adult female SandWing who was introduced in Darkness of Dragons. She is Palm's identical twin sister, and was imprisoned by Queen Oasis after being mistaken for Palm, who was a SandWing fugitive at the time. She is currently imprisoned within the dungeons of the SandWing stronghold.

Prickle has sharp eyes and patterns of light brown scales freckled across her paler yellow scales. She is lean and weathered, and wears earrings made of glittering fire opal.[1] After her imprisonment, she became tortured-looking.[2]

In the prologue, Palm appeared at the door of Prickle's hut after being chased by a fraction of the SandWing army, where Prickle asked Palm why she should let her in. After a quick discussion, Palm reluctantly gave her earrings to Prickle, saying that Smolder gave them to her. This brought up a discussion about Smolder, Prickle disliked him and Palm defended him. During their talk, the soldiers that were chasing Palm broke into Prickle's hut. They took Prickle away, thinking that she was Palm because she was wearing her earrings. Palm recognized one of the soldiers, Agave; who knew that they captured the wrong dragon, but said nothing as the soldier was a former friend of Palm.
