Opal was an adult female IceWing animus who was introduced in The Dangerous Gift. She is now a spirit who guides inexperienced IceWing queens into becoming more open-minded and assists them in learning important lessons through the gift of vision.
Description
Opal was elegant,[1] with unusual scales that had a hint of another color beyond the white in each one, similar to an opal.[2]
Personality
When speaking to Snowfall, Opal hid a smile and laughed good-naturedly.[1] She smiled and wished Snowfall luck before disappearing.[3] She was brave enough to take the risk of making the gift of vision unremovable until the queen learned her lessons.
Biography

She had asked Opal to make a gift for her which would allow her to spy on her enemies, but instead of following her demands, Opal decided to make the gift of vision.
