Mole is a male human who was introduced in The Dangerous Gift. He is the younger brother of Vole. He currently resides in the abyss village on the continent of Pantala.
Personality
Mole appears to be concerned with obeying the rules, staying safe and out of trouble. He does not seem to like being involved in conflicts, be it human or dragon.[1] He also seems to care for his brother, as he and Raven keep Vole alive despite his reputation of tossing people into the abyss.[2] Raven described him as a little judgmental, too much of a rule follower, smart, and usually the most agreeable person she knows.[3]
Biography
The Lost Continent Prophecy
In one of Snowfall's visions, Mole was seen urging Raven into one of the upper passages of the cave after he saw her teasing one of the dragons. He admonished her for putting herself into danger while she said that it was funny to provoke the dragons. She wondered if them suddenly appearing in the caves was related to the abyss, but Mole shushed her for mentioning it. Persistent, she pointed out that it was behaving strangely, but Mole stayed firm and told her to leave him out of it if she planned on climbing down the pit.
Mole first appears in the prologue, where Raven converses to him about Vole's ominous saying to "find the dragon", and he and Raven plan to bring a LeafWing into the abyss in order to "save" Vole.
Later, Mole and Raven captured Dusky and brought him to the abyss. Wren talked to them in human and they told Wren about Vole.
When Cottonmouth was defeated and Vole was freed from the othermind, Luna took him back to his friends. Mole took Vole back to the village, while Raven stayed to lead the others out of the cave.
Relationship
Raven and Mole are best friends and Raven trusts him enough to tell him that she was visiting Vole. To her surprise he was happy, as he could share his secret with his best friend. They work together to carry out Vole's instructions and bring him a dragon. Mole claimed he would do anything for his friend.
Vole is Mole's older brother and they are shown to be close. He along with Raven are the only two people who visit him and bring him food.
