Carabid was with Cottonmouth when he used Carabid to threaten Sundew. He was chosen specially by Cottonmouth to be the one to inject Sundew because of the "marvelous stingers in his claws and tail" which could inject more toxin than Wasp. Cottonmouth had fed him all the breath of evil he could get so that he would be able to absorb someone with only one stab. Sundew later pinned Carabid in a bramble bush and then about nine mind-controlled dragons grabbed Cricket and threw her at Carabid, where she was immediately brought into the hive mind, implying she had been injected by his extremely excruciating toxin.
