Mayfly has mud-brown scales and a wide, flat head{{Ref|WT|210}}. She also seems to have copper scales and pale, pinky-tan underbelly which is the same color as her wings. Her back leg and the back half of her tail are covered with what is described as "unmistakable" frostbreath scars. Her left back leg also has two missing claws.{{Ref|WT|211}} These wounds were almost certainly inflicted during the war.

Upon arriving at Possibility, the nearest resting place, Qibli asked Meerkat for directions to someone who could help. Upon hearing the name “Mayfly,” and realizing that the doctor was a MudWing, Winter was doubtful that she could help. Qibli and Meerkat, however, reassured him that she is the best doctor in Possibility. After following Meerkat to Mayfly's work area, Mayfly was skeptical that Kinkajou's injuries could have been caused by a dragon. Although she initially interrogated the group for another reason for Kinkajou's wounds, she finally accepted their story and took Kinkajou and Moonwatcher into her workspace so that she could heal Kinkajou.

Mayfly is an adult female MudWing who was introduced in Winter Turning. She currently resides in Possibility, where she is noted to be the best doctor in the town.[1]

Description

Mayfly has brown scales and a wide, flat face.[2] Her back left leg and half of her tail are covered by blackened and blistered frostbreath scars, and she has two missing claws.[3]

After Kinkajou was attacked by Chameleon in his powerful NightWing form Shapeshifter, her friends sought out a doctor in Possibility. A dragon named Meerkat led them to Mayfly, whom he proclaimed was the best doctor in Possibility. Moonwatcher brought Kinkajou into Mayfly's office while the others waited outside. While they were waiting, Hailstorm overheard Mayfly telling Moonwatcher that she initially thought Kinkajou was an IceWing, as her scales were white. He stuck his head through the window, retorting that Kinkajou looked nothing like an IceWing, and Mayfly angrily snapped at Hailstorm and Winter for blocking the light, placing a foul-smelling jar on the windowsill for emphasis. After seeing Kinkajou, Mayfly was doubtful that a dragon could have caused the RainWing's injuries. She eventually accepted their story and took Kinkajou and Moonwatcher inside her workplace.
