— The Invincible Lord to Undauntable about Wren, Dragonslayer

The Invincible Lord is a male human who rules the Indestructible City and is the father of Undauntable.

Description

The Invincible Lord has his dark hair combed into a thick royal mane. He often wears scarlet robes and rings on every one of his long and thin fingers.[1]

Personality

The Invincible Lord is shown to be greedy and power-hungry, as he wanted Heath, and later Wren, to work for him so he could build more Indestructible Cities and conquer the continent. He has ideas about who is useful and who is not, and what he can use everyone for, and will do anything to make his plans happen; to him, everyone is expendable.[2] It is also mentioned multiple times that he is cunning and untrustworthy.[3] He is called "Lord Jackanapes" by Heath, implying that he is conceited.[4]

He shows himself to be a poor father with a rather low opinion of his son, all but threatening Undauntable to tell him about the "girl who controls dragons" while at the same time calling him a "stupid waste of space."[1]

Biography

Legends

The Invincible Lord was mentioned throughout the story, wanting to hire the fabled Dragonslayer so that he could protect the city and slay dragons. This led to much frustration on the Dragonslayer's part, which over time turned to fear, causing Heath to hire anyone who swore loyalty to him. The Invincible Lord sent a spy, Boar, during this time, and Boar became a close guard to Heath.

In the epilogue, Boar returned to the Invincible Lord and informed him that Heath was a fraud. He then decided to shift his tactics to finding Wren, believing she was able to control dragons because of the fact that she was able to find dragon scales and talk to Sky. His son, Undauntable, tried to lie and keep her safe, to which the Invincible Lord responded with, "Stop sniveling. You're lying. You're terrible at it." He stated that one day, he will find and control Wren and conquer Pyrrhia.
