Dune is a SandWing, formerly a member of the Talons of Peace, and one of the Guardians of the Dragonets.
History
Dune was placed, along with Asha, Hvitur, Kestrel, and Webs to protect the dragonets of prophecy. However, due to the Mudwing and Skywing egg, Hvitur was caught by Burn, who smashed the SkyWing Egg and killed him. Asha died as well, from severe injury. This left him, Kestrel, and Webs to raise Tsunami, Clay, Sunny, Starflight, and Glory. He had lost one of his legs and incurably mangled his wing before the book started. It is unknown which side of the war he fought on before joining the Talons or whether he even fought at all.
He tended to be harsh on Glory, but not as harsh as Kestrel. He also was nicer to Sunny and made sure to teach her more due to her disabillites. After the vistitor Morrowseer, he was the second most reluctant to kill Glory. However, due to this plot, it lead to the attack by Queen Scarlet. During the battle, he was pinned by Scarlet, and she violently snapped his neck. Sunny was very distraught over this.
