The '''Wings of Fire Game''' was a standard [[wikipedia:Shoot 'em up|shoot 'em up]] from the top-down perspective. The description of the game on the front page was "Help the [[dragonets]] defend the skies!" You could previously play it on the [https://kids.scholastic.com/kids/books/wings-of-fire Scholastic website], but it no longer exists. However, the game is archived and playable on [https://web.archive.org/web/20151026110654/http://wingsoffire.scholastic.com/games/wings_of_fire/index.html The Internet Archive]. 

== Playing the game ==
When you went to the game's page, it would load in your browser. The title is "Wings of Fire" despite being called "Game" on the home page. You controlled [[Clay]] by clicking and dragging — if you were on mobile, you could drag him on the touch screen. Clay automatically fired when enemy dragons, [[IceWings]] ("Ice Dragon" in the game data), are on-screen. He lost health when hit by the IceWings's projectiles. You could not proceed to the top half of the screen, and there was no penalty for allowing an enemy to reach the bottom. You could also touch the IceWings without taking damage, though their projectiles would likely hit you. When Clay or a IceWing dies, they disappear. There was no music, and all the sound effects were generic. The game had no end; the only objective was to get the highest possible score.

All of the high scores were recorded on Scholastic's website on a leaderboard separated into weekly, monthly, and all-time high scores.
