He was born in 1972 in Wales, graduated from [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swansea_Metropolitan_University Swansea Institute of Higher Education] in 1992, and began a career as an illustrator after moving to London in 1994. He lives there with his wife and two daughters, and some of his other cover works include ''Spirit Animals'' and ''The Last Dragon Chronicles''.
